">Frequently showed up late (anywhere from 5-20 minutes) and consistently ended early by 10-15 minutes. He gave me a free session once when he was over 30 minutes late. I fired him as my therapist after too many times being late. I'd been locked out of the practice in the freezing cold because no one was there & he sent no text about running late. I raised this issue to him multiple times, stated how it disrespects my time, & he continued being very late. He'd been so late that he offered to go over his time limit & affect the rest of the clients that day. How fair is that to them? >He stated that he ends sessions early so he can have time to bill insurance & get ready for the next client. My response to that is, that is not my problem. I pay for a 1 hour session and it should not end by the 45 minute mark, especially when it started late. >Did not offer EMDR as stated and only went through the textbook questions with me. When it came to physically performing EMDR techniques, he said he "wasn't feeling up to it" and admitting to being "rusty" after a long period not practicing it in person. After several months seeing him, EMDR was still never done, and excuses were given as to why we couldn't start it. >The therapist was more interested in discussing relationship happenings & previous weeks' struggles as opposed to root causes of issues such as past traumas and stuff I was actually there for. I had clearly stated that I was not there to discuss my work week in the limited time we have, but that I wanted to discuss what really ailed me as a person. This was not small talk, but a drawn out probing of questions trying to find something about relationships to talk about. I was very direct and continued trying to steer conversations in one direction, but he persisted in being more intrigued with minor happenings throughout the previous week. >I do not believe the therapist should state that he specializes in trauma, PTSD, or EDMR therapy. This therapist is more interested in helping people with personal relationships at home and at work. >The therapist would not be the right fit for those seeking trauma, PTSD, or EMDR therapy. He can be dismissive, unaccountable, disrespectful, aloof, disorganized, and flighty. I regret wasting several months here."
