Reviews
"Any and all reviews on this place are correct. The lady projects her own behavior, and Karen-like traits onto others and truly hates the community she serves. I have no idea why someone who hates people as much as this woman does chooses to own a shop catering to people who she obviously hates. There are cute things in the shop, but everything is fairly overpriced. The signs are all passive to overtly aggressive, and the lady will definitely confront you about something. It's definitely not worth visiting and letting this shop fade into obscurity and going out of business so someone who actually cares about serving this wonderful community can step in and take its place."
"I feel as though I can’t truly give 1 star since I’ve never set foot in the store (thankfully) and have never interacted with the woman who wrote all the signs. My husband and I parked right by this store and the first sign that caught my eye was the one about not leaving your pets inside your car when it’s hot outside. I wish there were more signs like that everywhere because it should be illegal to leave pets in the car. And then, we come around the corner and saw more signs! And based on the other reviews I’ve seen on here, I guess she changes them every so often so I wanted to add my own photos of what they are as of yesterday, September 18. Very interesting approach to running a business and I’m curious to see how much longer she will last with her hate towards “bratty children.” With all these signs around the store, I would never want to go inside for fear of what she might say or do."
"Not A Shop For Tourists. I was looking at the magnets when I noticed a sign on top of the display that said “Don’t Steal Magnets, or You’ll Get Thumped!. I went to take a picture of the sign, when lady said, “Sir!” I moved and got a picture of the magnets instead of the sign. I turned around to see a lady who was pointing at a sign on the floor. She said, “I can’t make the signs any bigger! The sign said “No Pictures!” I didn’t notice it because it was on the floor and wasn’t even very big. I apologized, but then she put a chain across the door. The chain had a sign that said not to go over or under it, and “You Can Wait Ten Minutes!” I was literally trapped in the store until she finished checking out a customer. I joined the customer as she lifted the chain to let them out. Bad Vibes All Around!"
"Horrible woman threw my husband and kids out because they wanted to look at the stuffed animals display. One of my children has autism and was not touching anything. She yelled at them that this was not a children’s store and told them to get out. 2 other patrons in the store started videotaping this woman and told her they wouldn’t give her their business if she was going to act like this. She then said she was calling the cops. They were shopping for a birthday card for me and it ruined their day. I went back tonight and she posted the photo I am sharing. They were in the store for 1 minute before they got thrown out. My husband told her to put up a sign that children were not allowed and she said it was illegal."
"Looking at all those reviews, I feel as though I must be one of the only people to enter her store with a child and not have a negative interaction with the owner, in fact we had a quick discussion about motherhood. However mine is just a baby and was in a front pack. I carefully held their head any time I moved to look at something, and the only thing I actually touched was the wind chimes. The front sign is what had really caught my attention. The strong advocacy of helping dogs left in hot cars and the fact percentage of sales go to some shelter (or something) was very respectable to me. Upon entering, the bombardment of DONT TOUCH signs is pretty overwhelming. I understand why they are there, but I have to agree with another reviewer that perhaps the owner should consider handling an online shop. Also the shops 'aisles' are incredibly narrow and I was almost nervewracked having to maneuver up and down to avoid passing people or potentially bumping the rows and rows of glass displays. I wonder if a larger space would be smarter. This shop prefers cash and charges 4% for cards. The first thing we'd looked at were novelty socks which seemed ridiculously high priced when you can find similar items online for about a third the price. There was a stuffed otter I might have purchased but it was 50$ which is about 25-30 more than I might have expected for the size. I found most items to be not exactly budget friendly, and a lot of the wares are imported. I agree she has quite an eclectic selection however, we definitely spied some unseen things of interest. It's unfortunate the reputation she has built for herself."
