"Katie K. is a great therapist and I really enjoy my weekly sessions with her!"
"Most of the staff seem to be both very kind and competent but unfortunately I had a very poor experience with Cynthia Stephan. I knew she was a student when I chose to see her, but I did not expect the complete lack of competency she displayed. She is reserved and I definitely understand being introverted-- but she often sat there quietly, looking at me, if I didn't say anything after finishing my thoughts instead of trying to lead me to further speak or trying to get me to expand on thoughts I had. This made it very difficult to share with her. She also forgot-- TWICE -- to look into whether she would be able to write a letter of support on my behalf to access a gender-affirming surgery. I have a poor memory as a part of my mental illness and as the therapist she should have remembered something so important. She later claimed she could write this letter under supervision of her supervisor and we went over the details of the letter. Later I discovered that she NEVER even sent my letter of support to the hospital. I am very angry this happened because I now have to begin the process of this letter all over again. I would have rather been told that she could not complete the process than be led on a wild Goose chase. Furthermore, I asked if she could give me referrals to another therapist when she was moving to a different clinic-- specifically, if she could write a referral for me to a clinic. She said she was unable to do that and sent me a link to a broad portal of clinics in Oregon that accepted my insurance. Overall, I was very disappointed and angry with this experience-- this led me to seek care elsewhere as I was upset with how I'd been treated."
