"No accountability as we are always getting mail from other po boxes in are po box and now they have marked a package as being delivered to are box that never was delivered to are post box, spoke to Karen at the local Coquille branch were are box is located and not saying it's her fault but either these employees at this branch are not being trained properly or just careless with there parcels that they are putting in the boxes as now I'm being told nothing they can do as they can't find it and that it was marked as delivered so no help either and now I'm out my money on parts that were never delivered to the box and either lost or put in someone else's box probably both but marked as being delivered."

"If You're Applying for a Passport, Go Anywhere Else My mother and I went to the Coquille Post Office to renew my passport with a name change and to process her first application last week. We could not have made it any easier for the agent. Every document provided, copies made ahead of time, forms filled out electronically and ready to sign, early arrival for our appointment that had been scheduled the week before. The agent who *assisted* us was a bundle of pomposity, rudeness, outdated information, and inefficiency from the minute we walked through the door. Upon arrival, we advised that we were requesting expedited processing due to impending travel plans for 2/16...it was Jan. 7th. The agent goes (and I quote), "Well then we have a problem. You'll have to go to a consulate for in-person processing since you're traveling in less than 3 weeks. I was a bit taken aback by her obvious lack of basic arithmetic skills but I politely responded, "Oh, we're not traveling the 16th of this month, it's the 16th of February". The agent huffed a deep and long-suffering sigh as she strode toward a calendar to physically count off the days before travel (39, in case anyone is interested), presumably to prove me wrong...she didn't. Having successfully passed the first test, we were granted passage to checkpoint two. Immediately, the agent's hawk eye for ways to get out of doing her job caught another flaw when she saw we were requesting passport cards instead of books. "You can't do expedited processing on a passport card", she declared. Yes, you can. The government website says you can. What you can't do is get overnight shipping on a passcard. Again, I gave her the benefit of the doubt despite the fact that her attitude was beginning to wear thin. "I know we can't get overnight shipping; that's not a problem. We're only interested in the 2-3wk expedited processing of the actual application." Cue more blustering and grumbling as she heaves out an ancient binder with web pages from four updates ago printed out, slamming it down on the counter and pointing triumphantly at her proof. "See, there's not even a fee I can charge you for that. You can't do it." Well...my dear passport processing agent, that's probably because the fee you're pointing to is your acceptance facility's $35 acceptance fee which doesn't apply in a renewal and not at the government's $60 expedited processing fee. I can understand the confusion. $35 acceptance fee and $60 processing fee DO look awfully similar. I opted to proceed as I planned since I knew she was wrong, a choice I managed to state in the most diplomatic way possible, "I'm going to have to run the risk because we need these right away." With the pursed lips and raised brow that cue flashbacks to that babysitter you really hated for your parents to hire, she responded, "Well, I have to inform you that these fees are nonrefundable". Tired of being made to feel like a six year old caught with my hand in the cookie jar, I finally ceased my attempts at a cordial interaction. Whatever, lady. She moved forward with the applications but at such a snail's pace and with such a chip on her shoulder that my mother and I were both legitimately worried that she was going to bin our packages as soon as we walked out the door in retaliation for our refusal to accept her authority. We weren't the only people to notice either. Several other clients came in and waited around twiddling their thumbs for upwards of 20 minutes while she puttered around. Not once did she say "be with you in a minute" or "I apologize for the delay". A couple left without ever being help, visibly disgusted by her lack of regard. The end of this Saga of the Passport Renewal at OK-Corral culminates with the unequivocal proof that she was wrong and proud of it. I just got word from passport processing HQ that our applications have been received and are (wonder of wonders!) being expedited for delivery in two weeks. Ms. Passport Processor, you are wasting your gifts; I strongly suggest a career change to the DMV."
