"i took this course and i got jeremy as my instructor for my drives. at the time, i didn't know if it was the whole company or just jeremy that was causing me to have a bad experience, but for my final drive i drove with barbara and then i knew that it was jeremy. everything in this review is purely objective and based on my experience. he taught informational but very boring online zoom classes, where i really did not learn anything. he loved to mention that he was 'a big guy' and that he was 6'10" which for me, a sixteen year old girl, immediately caused me to worry about my own safety. *i was NEVER actually in an unsafe environment, that's just how i felt* in class, he bribed us to write reviews in exchange for final test answers. i wrote one, that was not fully honest, so here is my honest review. he also read some of the bad reviews for him to us, and just said things like "well, i'm not here to be your friend" but he genuinely did not teach me what he should have. when it came to in-person drives, he was not a good teacher. he gave absolutely no positive feedback and only told me what i was doing wrong. that made me extremely stressed and overall caused my driving performance to be worse. i do not perform well under pressure and jeremy did not make that easier for me. when i took my final drive with barbara, i was immediately off the deep end because, surprise, jeremy did not teach me any of the things i actually needed to know to pass the final. he never once had me practice reversing, parking, what to do before you get into the vehicle, how to use the headlights or even how to start the ignition. when i was in the car with barbara, in performed better than i ever have simply because she created a calm and supportive environment, unlike jeremy. i left every drive with him feeling like i was a terrible driver and would never pass. overall, i'm very thankful that i got to do my final with someone who was not jeremy. if barbara is reading this, thank you!! you turned a bad experience into a much better one. if jeremy is reading this, do better. we all know you aren't there to be our friend, but that gives you no excuse to not teach us the content needed to pass the final. and please stop mentioning your height; it gets old fast. i hope you see this as constructive criticism, although you never gave me any."
"this is a great course if you want to get better at driving. the instructors are very good, i got jeremy just as a warning he is not being paid to be your friend, he is being paid to make you a safer driver so he will be very blunt with you. but over all great program."
"1st Learn to Drive Clackamas is money well-spent! We were so fortunate to have SCOTT KEFGEN for our son’s driving instructor. Scott, reportedly the company’s most popular instructor, happens to be a real K-12 teacher who applies the same principles and modes of classroom teaching that makes for effective learning behind the wheel. He came armed with lecture notes and lesson plan that he discussed with us parents before starting. He also evaluated our son’s driving for every lesson, giving him some homework driving and advice until the next session to improve on areas that he learned that day. He earned the trust and confidence of our son from the very first lesson up to the review before the DMV driving test. Scott never dropped the ball and delivered exactly what he said he would each time. He also was honest and did not try to stretch teaching for more sessions when he believed our son did not need more lessons to pass the test. The result is proof of Scott’s excellent mentoring: our son passed the DMV driving test with words of praise from the tester - on the first take!!! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND 1st Learn to Drive Clackamas with no reservations. Thank you so much, Scott!!!"
"When I first found out that my mom signed me up for driving lessons, I was not looking forward to it. I felt like I didn't need it because I have always been a fast learner and thought I could figure it out on my own. However, as I have been learning more driving information, I am glad that my mom is having me do this. But it is not easy. Sitting through 2 hour zoom classes 2 times a week is not fun. Also, during the drives, it can be stressful and hard not to want to quit. I have autism and ADHD, and that makes it hard for me to learn things and focus and not get offended. However, I am learning that no one is trying to hurt your feelings. My driving instructor Jeremy is a nice guy, but is very honest and is blunt. If you did something wrong, he tells you. He doesn't really give encouragement, but that is just how he is. And the other people involved in the school are very helpful, if you have extra questions they are more that happy to help you. Over all, I say it is a very good driving school. I recommend!"
"I came to drivers ed with a pretty solid understanding about a lot of the different aspects of driving, but even so drivers ed was an extremely valuable resource going over the basics again, and relearning things with more accuracy. Jeramy is very scary in the beginning especially but a very good teacher."
