"This was our experience using Lawyers Title for the recent sale of our home- We found out that the lender we had when we paid our home off 9 years ago did not properly sign off ,or there was a problem in recording. We dealt with Stefanie and Charlotte on this and after searching our records for statements and loan numbers snd submitting that info to Lawyers Title the issue was unresolved, with a week and a half till closing. My wife and I were told that they may have to push out the closing date because the department that handles these issues at Wells Fargo was a non-contact department due to covid-19. Lawyers Title claimed it could take 10 to 30 days to get this resolved and that they had send an email and "were hoping for a quick response". This was stressful - you never know how a buyer is going to react when you ask to push out the closing date.. We had a hard time believing that Lawyers Title had no contact at Wells Fargo or couldnt provide any means of getting this resolved. I would expect in this situation for someone to be making phone calls ,sending out certified mail -basically doing whatever it took to get the situation resolved so we could close on time. None of this happened. I figured it'd be futile but I decided to call the 1-800 number for Wells Fargo loans myself and see if they had any suggestions. They transferred me one time and in 10 minutes I had a PDF file sent to my phone and the signed off document that was needed to fix this. I had to give them my name and the loan number, thats all. It is absolutely baffling why Lawyers Title couldn't have fixed this and saved us the time and stress. If we wouldn't have been so close to closing date we would have asked for an addendum to change title, because we lost all confidence in Lawyers Title at this point.... I'm leaving two stars here because despite the lack of urgency and poor communication between Stefanie and Charlotte, they were both nice and personable over the phone. Also, we had a great experience with Danielle when we signed final documents and the fees were reasonable. Due the magnitude of the issue that Lawyers Title couldn't fix, we wont do business with them again."
