"We have a 5 years of experience with two children at L'Etoile. Our experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. The creativity, care, and love of every single teacher we've had has been notable. Our children have thrived during their time at L'Etoile. We are constantly in awe by the dedication of the teachers and administrative staff. There are so many elements of the school that we treasure. The school-wide events (Halloween, Winter show, etc.) really bring that dedication and dynamism to life. We are grateful to be a part of this community and highly recommend it to all Portland families!"
"We are so happy to be a part of the L'Etoile community. The immersion education has been top notch and the staff/teachers are fantastic!! The school communication has also been great. We would highly recommend for anyone in the Portland area!"
"Our girls love going to school at L'Etoile! They are always “playing school” at home and packing their backpacks to get ready to go back to school. We are having the best experience at L'Etoile, and we are so beyond grateful. L’Etoile embraces each child’s strengths and welcomes the whole person in a nurturing, kind, authentic, gentle, child centered, and structured environment with consistent routines that creates confidence and settledness for our girls allowing them to explore their personalities this incredible environment! I'm just in awe and beyond grateful how E'Loite has helped our dynamic girls flourish. Navigating the complexities of our girls is rewarding, but definitely dynamic. My neighbor calls our girls, “women of conviction". Although I’m sure this will play out for them later in life, as a parent and probably as teacher the path is not straight. I'm always excited and comforted to know that my girls get to learn in an environment that doesn't need kids, or even families for that matter, to "perform" in a given manner. Our two girls in real time are able to try on all their hats (e.g., From dressing sporty to princesses to acting like doggies, or even insisting on wearing PJs on top of the Elsa dresses. They get to be their bossy selves, leaders, sing loud to not wanting to talk, to feeling shy or even crying sometimes, to laughing and being super silly, to following the rules, to not liking rules...). It's all okay and apart of being human. The true complexities are kids are welcomed. Not to mention, one of our kids was diagnosed with a complex autoimmune disease last May. L’Etoile has gone out of their way to accommodate us and has shown us such kindness, grace, and love along the way, and let’s just say, not just once or twice, but continuously, so it has even had a profound impact on me. This isn't a performance for them, it's who they really are:). They also don’t even need me to be something, but I feel as though there’s an appreciation for genuine and raw experiences met with love for the entire community. I’m so grateful that our daughters foundation in preschool school is being laid in such a brilliant, thoughtful, and kind manner. L’Etoile educates people who are engaged in learning and every aspect of being a kid facilitating dynamic and authentic learning too. We are so grateful for you all. THANK YOU!"
"We feel so fortunate to be part of the L' etiole community. One of my children graduated after 8 years at L' etoile and my other is on their 5th year. Every single teacher we have had has been amazing. They are kind, supportive, and easy to communicate with. The teachers and administration are responsive and nimble problem solvers. They have worked together to create a fun school and community that produces students on their way to being bilingual. French and English curriculum often pair subject based projects (Oregon Trail, the Civil Rights Movement, etc.) with field trips and creative expression. They do a great job of balancing structure with a nurturing and playful environment. My eldest was reading in two languages above grade level and became a strong writer. Both kids enjoy going to school and love their friends. There is plenty of opportunity to become involved as a family. Cody, the music teacher, is awesome and engages the kids in a wonderful music program, concerts, and school assembly. The overnight class trips to the SanJuan Islands and to France were transformative for independence and appreciation of travel and the beauty around us. I highly recommend L'etoile."
"We had an amazing experience at this school. The teachers were highly skilled and created a warm and nurturing environment for the children. The curriculum was engaging and well-structured, allowing my child to develop strong French language skills. I highly recommend this preschool for anyone looking to provide their child with a fantastic French immersion education."
