"Low in altitude, this bridge makes cycling or walking (or driving) easy because there is no hill to climb. Do be careful walking or biking across, because the path is shared with pedestrians and cyclists. Maybe not that big of a deal these days, but this bridge historically has enormous amounts of cyclists crossing on the daily."
"Downtown waterfront view of Portland! Recommend taking a nice walk along the water, take in the views of the bridges, fountain, monuments, etc."
"Beautiful green bridge with great views of the Wellamette River and the Water Front on the West Side !! Really nice and safe to walk across !!"
"I walk across this bridge regularly, and I enjoy the view. There’s room for walking and biking. The bridge raises when a large boat needs to get through underneath, so occasionally you may need to wait to get across."
"The iconic Hawthorne bridge that signifies you are definitely in Portland, OR. A lot of views just driving through the city and over the bridge. Tons of people out riding their bikes or even walking. Seems like the perfect location to take some amazing scenic photos or even hold your own mini photo shoot."
