Reviews
"It's just a small school that's way it gets a bad reputation there's nothing wrong with port Orford School"
"Past student review: Currently the school has been cycling through new teachers about every two or three years. Majority of teachers and staff demean students and talk to them as if they are small children. Many of the staff will also take home and public issues to school and mention them to a student when it is completely inappropriate and not relevant. Teachers and Staff have had many children through the school. Much of them skip class and sit around during class time with their parents while working. They are also exempt from disciplinary actions. Student to student issues are rarely resolved when assistance is needed. When students try to report things anonymously they always have their name mentioned and then confronted by said student reported. Female students are the only students to get dress coded at this time. With excuses of making teachers uncomfortable and distracting male students. The most dress coded items include: Headbands, (a gang related item even though the sixes/port orford area has no gangs) Shorts, (Even if fingertip length) See through lace near shoulder or midsection,(Even when covered) Leggings, And Not wearing a Bra, Many teachers and staff will not accept students work unless it is how they like it. This includes creative writing, art, and digital media's. Senior Students are the ones who pay and host their graduation. They also set up and much more. This only has slight help from staff. Staff is also the main stress factor at this certain time for graduating seniors. Many students gain favorism for being somewhat low income. They will receive free lunches, supplies, and electronics. Many of the students receiving these items are wearing American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, Gap, and much more expensive clothing that they bought themselves. Lunch is not edible. Many student sport players would throw up their lunch at practice or right after lunch in terms of quality. Every year the food slowly downgrades. New students are considered outcasts to the tiny and secluded school. Much of the students will not touch or talk to a new student unless asked by teachers or staff. In conclusion. As a full time four-year student at Pacific High School. I do not recommend it. Many life lessons that are insisted in being taught are in no way helpful in the outside world. While it may seem like an utter waste to put a students here. There are a few favorable things. The music program is most likely the only great part of the school. Many students respite from the negativity of Pacific was and is the Band room."
