"Simple and straightforward, with informative interpretation of the cabin and cemetery."

"Very interesting site representative of an important piece of history! Tourism office should promote this site even more..."
"This is fascinating history and the log building is an amazing restored architectural treasure from the fur trade era. These stories of the French Canadians and Metis are not as well known as they should be and this site helps illuminate this important part of our history. Particularly interesting are the stories of the Indian women who married Canadian/European fur traders and their important roles, including mothering Metis children. The log building is representative of that era of building construction by a culture early in the 19th century (which was not indigenous to the area), but coexisted through trade and family ties."
"Simple spot but valuable history. No restrooms and off into the brush of the farm fields. If you like wine, it's a great spot to sober."
