Whitman Mission National Historic Site

"Very interesting,but too mu h about the Whitmans too little about tje indigenous peoples."

"After my daughter read "The Stout Hearted Seven" two years ago in school as part of Idaho history, and all she wanted to do when we went to WA was visit the Whitman Mission. It is a peaceful place with a good look back into history. I liked that they had information on both sides, the Natives and the Whitmans. It was well worth the stop even though it was out of the way. Be sure to walk the full loop, it had a small elevation gain and worth the views."

"My husband and I wanted to learn more about the area we just moved too. The trails are nice and peaceful, the hike up to the monument was steep and a great way to work out. I liked that a lot of signing is being updated to show the native's side of things and they got to tell the store from their side in the small film. Best part is this is all free, a beautiful place to visit and just walk and enjoy nature."

Informative polite staff, gorgeous grounds and a well maintained oath that walks you, literally, through history. I got to walk a part of the Oregon Trail! Well worth visiting."
