"While this apartment complex looks really nice, it turns out that it's not actually nice to live in. The walls are paper-thin. No exaggeration, I could hear people sneeze through my walls. I was woken up almost every morning by my upstairs neighbor's alarm. My downstairs neighbor ended up leaving a friendly note on my door asking me to open/close my drawers slowly after 10pm because she could hear every time I'd do it. The apartments get insanely hot in the summer and the ceiling fans do little to remedy this. The building is U-shaped with a courtyard in the middle. If you face the courtyard with your windows open, and your neighbors have their windows open, it literally sounds like they are inside your apartment when they talk. I had talked to management a few times with some noise complaints and nothing was ever done. Moving out, I spent 8 full hours deep-cleaning the apartment and they still kept half of my deposit because I had missed some dust on the blinds and didn't move my entire refrigerator (!) to clean behind it. Two of my bikes were stolen out of the bike room in the year I lived here. Haven't lived here for over a year, so maybe things have changed."
"The apartments are quite small and the parking is laughable but there is a nice bike room with lots of space for bikes. Leaving because we were accidenlly locked out of our expensive apartment by lousy management and maintenance and not given the time of day for the inconvenience."
"The batteries died in my door lock due to negligence on behalf of the property management and maintenance department. There are no key style locks on this property, so you are at the mercy of batteries and electronics 100% of the time. After work one day, I was denied access to my property (and my sick cat who was locked inside) while maintenance people slowly travelled from the state of Washington to haphazardly drill a temporary deadbolt onto my door (which would have to remain throughout the weekend--we had no doorknob during this time) and remove the battery operated lock. After the drilling was finished, my partner and I proceeded to wait additional time for the maintenance person to go drive off and have keys cut at Fred Meyer while we were stuck at home on Valentine's Day evening. We contacted the apartments every day for several weeks asking for a concession, or even just the ability to break our lease without paying thousands of dollars, as this was a safety concern. It's worth noting we have been tenants for over two years and have NEVER had a late payment. We were denied completely and are now moving, as well as paying nearly $2,000.00 in lease break fees. These modern "amenities" that "urban living" have to offer will come with a price. Including TINY floor plans, unresponsive/unhelpful staff, and no air conditioning. Thanks!"
"I absolutely love living here! The building itself is kept spotless and any communication is responded to right away. It is very quiet for an apartment, the apartments are beautiful, safe, affordable and I have never been happier in a rental! The one and only drawback is the parking, but it really is not that bad."
"Avoid at any costs. No AC (when they show you around, they assure you won't need it since it doesn't get too hot in Portland), and Fibersphere (only internet option available at this building) is extremely slow and will shut down often. Walls are paper thin, if you have a neighbor above you, you will hear them. We shared with management how loud our neighbors were, making noise until 4:00 am, insulting each other, management was hostile and extremely slow in their responses. The only option they provided was to move to another apartment within the same building and signing a new lease, instead of dealing directly with the obnoxious neighbors. Jill Clark and Mimi Chauvlier are absolute jokes, it is a disaster to deal with them and know that since the contract stipulates you will have to pay a fee to break the lease that you are stuck and will not leave until the lease ends. As well, they only gave us $170 back on our deposit out of $300, even though we cleaned the apartment from top to bottom."
