"I've lived here for about 4 months. I've had a few issues with broken lights/faucet/ doors but the maintenance guys are SO friendly, polite and hard working. They really make a difference in living here. What I love most is how quiet and peaceful everything is from the nature area to the apartments themselves. Theyre built like a fortress, you cant hear the wind or outside traffic noises much. I can hear my upstairs neighbor sometimes, walking around, TV sounds but, very muffled. I do wish they had more renovated units. The carpet is super scary. It has long beige yarns with brown flecks so I never know if it's dirty or not. I thought I spilled something on it and tried to pick it up but it was the carpet! ALL units should be renovated with faux hardwood. And install new modern carpet in bedrooms. There are loud barking dogs that people like to leave on their porches for some reason. So every time I walk to my apartment I get barked at. I have a dog that's ESA and service training so its stressful for us. (She does not bark.) After reading other reviews I am concerned about move-out though since I do have a dog. I will update my review after move-out. What I like: - Maintenance guys are always so nice and helpful. - Nice neighborhood. -Doesn't feel like youre living in a cardboard box, built solid but has lower ceilings so you kinda feel like you're living in a cave :( -Good parking. -Safe area although not a secure access building. -No weed or smoke smells! (near me anyways...) -No slats on balcony so, liquids/dirt dont spill onto patios. What I dont like: -Need more renovated 1bed units. (They didn’t have my apartment ready to show before move-in, so I had to form my impression only from the model unit which WAS renovated.) -No AC and no celing fan :( They should come standard in all units as theyre essential and a necessity with climate change."
"If you’re lucky enough to get a renovated unit you’re lucky. Otherwise, the apartments are very old and outdated. It feels like I’m living in a low-income apartment but paying top price. Other than that, I love it here. The apartments are next to a beautiful wetland in a sleepy community. Pros: • Quiet, peaceful neighborhood that’s safe. • Park-like setting with maintained landscaping. • Highly walkable and close to shopping center and trails. • Nice heat lamp in the bathroom. • Very hot water and great water pressure. • Modern electric fireplace (no heat). • You don’t have to walk far for your recycling, trash and mail • Apartments are built solid and stay warm in the winter. I didn’t turn my heater on all winter long. But means it will be scorching HOT in the summer. • Some people complain about the lack of amenities like a pool or gym but I disagree; I think it lends to the peaceful community that makes it feel like you’re living in a home and not just a commercial complex. Cons: • No air conditioning or ceiling fan. • Broken EV charger that they won’t fix. • Interior finishes are old & outdated in the economy units: Brown laminate countertops w/ a “hair-like” pattern. Yellow-beige high pile carpet that is matted in high traffic areas. Yellow-beige walls, trim, and doors. Faux wood linoleum “rustic” flooring in kitchen and bathroom that’s torn in areas. • The washing machine is old and has the column that takes up the entire machine. You can only do small loads. I washed a throw blanket that I got humus on but when I removed it the hummus was still there. • The bathtub is NOT disability friendly. The tub edge is about a foot and a half from the floor so you have to really climb to get in. Bathtub grout is yellow and worn, and has that “old” smell. • You get your average apartment noises from neighbors: TV mumblings, water sounds from pipes, neighbor’s washing machine. Carpet dampens the noise a bit. • During the snow storm management didn’t plow sidewalks or doorsteps. I saw one lady chipping a pathway through the ice with a garden shovel :("
"I’ve lived there for two years and recently moved out last month. The biggest reason for this poor review is that I was charged almost 900$ for move out costs and that is after my security deposit. If you have any type of pets expect to have your carpets black lighted to find stains not very visible to the naked eye (I’m sure it could have been cleaned with the cleaning fee) and then charged for an entire carpet replacement plus an addition 250$ cleaning charge."
"I work an extremely busy support engineering position for a large enterprise with a high volume of tickets and frequent 24/7 on-calls. I have medical issues with my back and shoulders from having worked in utilities for more than a decade and cannot carry heavy objects. My wife has a chronic knee injury that requires surgical intervention so she can't carry heavy objects. Since 2020 we have had issues with deliveries and the mishandling of our parcels by the leasing office. We have requested, by writing and phone call, dozens of times (it's all documented) to stop the leasing office from receiving our packages. This is because of three reasons: - The office frequently closes on weekends. - We live on the 4th floor so we can't carry heavy packages to our unit. - Due to my work hours I can't make it to the office. Per USPS: Sofi has an agreement with USPS that the leasing office accepts packages for residents. Per Kaydi, Kayla, and Joseph: No agreement with USPS exists. Per Amanda (newer face): Sofi has an agreement with USPS and no other parcel delivery services that Sofi leasing office will hold packages for residents. There's obviously a huge communication breakdown. Beyond that, I've dealt with discrimination from Joseph and Kayla (who is now blessing somewhere else with her rosy personality) where they provably misplaced or purposefully withheld packages as retaliation because I raised a good faith concern about their handling of some large maintenance projects. Anyway, I could go on forever about the management here. So today I had a large shipment (~30 lbs) of computer components for a server I'm building. We sent two courtesy emails to the office staff last night and today. Basically a heads-up to let them know that USPS was delivering it, and a request that they do not accept the package but ask USPS to deliver it to our door (which is accessible - there is no locked gate or anything, you can walk right up to us from the sidewalk). Joseph responded with an "affirmative" - saying that he would make sure the office staff communicated that to the delivery person. A couple hours later, I have an email update that my delivery was refused and now I can't access my parcel until AT LEAST tomorrow according to the tracking info, and I would have to drive to the post office, pick up the box in my vehicle, and carry it myself. Joseph claims that the USPS person said they would bring it to our door. I can't say for sure, since I wasn't there, but given Joseph's track record and propensity for harassing me (such as requiring ID from me to pick up my packages when he doesn't require it from other residents - the definition of discrimination) I think he turned them away. Did Joseph go out of his way yet again to make life difficult for me? Did the postal worker lie? At the end of the day, I'm missing almost $1,000 worth of server components and instead of us having the opportunity to find someone we could give $10 to carry the package up for us we now have no access and my project is delayed. I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do. I have been on the phone with Amazon for tens of hours, with the USPS for several hours, and with the leasing office via phone and email countless times for years. All I want to be able to do is get my packages but this management team has an established track record of taking a service that is supposed to be a convenience for residents (accepting packages for safe keeping) and holding it over peoples' heads like some kind of power move. It's really upsetting that all we want is to get our packages and nobody seems interested in helping us solve the problem. Do I need to get an ADA attorney involved or something? I don't want to go that route but seriously. Edit: I spoke to Amanda, the new manager, and we cleared things up. She was very polite and understanding and we have a plan moving forward. If this gets resolved then I'm going to re-evaluate my review soon."
"We lived here for 2 years - the apartment was fine but the appliances were old. They functioned but the dishwasher was dirty/hard to keep clean and the stove did not heat up well. We mentioned this several times but they would not replace. Upon move out, we requested walk through and were told we would not learn about the carpet costs until after our lease was done, which is not ok. As a tenant, it is frustrating that we do not have full transparency prior to the lease being done. We then were surprised with a full carpet replacement bill because of excessive pet hair. They would not even attempt to clean the carpet and had little proof of excessive pet hair, it was a zoomed in picture in a corner. After some negotiating, they lowered our bill a bit but not much. That being said, the proximity to the different shops and downtown is great. The lack of any amenities was not great, esp in comparison to other complexes in the area. I would not recommend living here as it seems that they are more about the bottom dollar than finding a happy medium with the tenant."
