"I'm a 54 yrs old male. Just recently diagnosed with cancer, and I'm autistic. Stay as far away as you xan from this clinic, and Doctor Multani explicitly. 'll be dead in a year or less. They wouldn't give me a prescription for my anxiety disorder...as I'm being told by doctors, I'll be dead in less than a year."
"They'll cut you off vital meds if you can't afford an appointment. I've taken a mood stabilizer and anti depressant for literally years but in the last 6 months since I haven't been able to afford the ridiculous insurance premiums they have been refusing to fill medications for me. They charged me nearly 300 dollars for a 20 minute telehealth appointment with a resident and still won't refill my meds just three months later. I will be off my meds because I cannot afford the extortion they are charging just to renew prescriptions for conditions that are lifelong and incurable. It is utterly exhausting to fight mental illness, know what meds you need, but be unable to get them because your doctors office is far more concerned with seeing you as just another way to make money. I'm going to see about getting meds online. It is flat out dangerous and cruel to force people off of mood stabilizers for such arbitrary reasons."
"It's taken me a while to write this review because it was such a triggering experience for me. Long story short, I was seeing Dr. Ashly Benson for over a year and was really enjoying building a relationship with her, as we worked on healing my chronic health issues together. However, when she referred me to see Dr. Lee Poe at Sunnyside Collaborative Care to help with the chronic pain I was experiencing, I had an awful experience of being sexualized by him during our visit. I wrote him a letter letting him know how he made me feel and [obviously] never went back to see him. Instead of having my provider (Ashly) help repair this rupture in our doctor/patient relationship, she had the clinic email me to let me know I could no longer be seen at this clinic because of her relationship with Dr. Lee Poe. So, not only did I have to go through a horrible experience under her referral, but I also lost my primary care doctor. I know that blaming women/the victim is pretty standard in our culture, but I was very surprised to experience that in this setting. If the clinic wants to reach out and make this right, I'm here for it, but I do feel it's important to warn other people and that is why I'm choosing to write this review."
"I cannot speak highly enough of the doctors I have seen at the Grain clinic. In 20 odd years seeking services for chronic health conditions this is the best medical treatment I have encountered by a mile, whether we are talking conventional western medicine or naturopathic medicine. Even the referrals they have given to specialists outside the clinic have been to top notch providers. Dr. KC has gone above and beyond in working with me. Her medical wisdom and her empathetic, patient-focused, wholistic approach is a wonder to behold after decades of frustration with an endless series of inconclusive tests and doctors who have more often than not failed to take my health situation and my needs seriously. At Grain I feel heard and respected by an attentive professional who has been able to finally give me some meaningful answers. We have agreed upon a treatment plan that gets at the root of my problems, and that is supported by peer-reviewed science. This is unprecedented in my experience navigating the healthcare system as a patient with needs that are serious but difficult to address. On a related note, Oregon House Bill HB 2555 -- requiring insurers to reimburse naturopathic doctors when they give the same level of care as regular physicians -- is currently stuck in committee. If you feel so inclined, write or call your local state rep to let them know you support this bill! The gatekeeping must end now."
"Dr. Sara Kate- Chinoy was communicative and apologetic about running behind. Her demeanor was kind and showed genuine care about my health. She is both knowledgeable about her practice and humble enough to research further to verify her diagnosis. I had a much different experience with Dr. Ashly Benson. She too was running behind, with who I am unsure because I was the only patient in the office. But she also failed to communicate that she would be late to start the appointment, and showed no care when I expressed that it greatly impeded the rest of my agenda. No apology, but instead asked me with a kind of pompous air if I was ok. Also, instead of reading through the notes that were already taken by Dr. Sara Kate-Chinoy about my traumas, she asked me to go through them yet again. When I asked her if she would look at the notes already taken she seemed annoyed at the request, saying that she needed to click on a different page. How is that difficult? What is the point of an hour long intake on our worst experiences if that tender information is not utilized by the other doctors in the office? The cranial sacral work and the after treatment check-in also carried with it this kind of energy that really was the opposite of helpful. I left not feeling better, but worse in a way."
