"I have two large masses in my abdomen and have been totally unable to get into any doctor to be evaluated. So, today, I went to the walk-in clinic and asked if they would see me about the masses because I was worried about them. They got me in very quickly. The nurse was very friendly and the doctor came in and was quite chipper as well. After she palpated my masses, she went out of her way to see if they could get me in for a CT scan the same day while I was there in town. The staff was on the phone immediately getting me an appointment with a surgeon. I was surprised how quickly and efficiently everyone worked on my behalf. By mid-afternoon I had seen a doctor, had a CT scan, and had an appointment to see a surgeon. I can't say how much I appreciate the kindness of the staff and how quickly and well they all did the jobs. I do not generally give high reviews but, today, I was impressed. I have been to another Sutter walk-in clinic before and was treated horribly. This place was so much better. A big thank you to everyone for caring about my health needs and helping me so quickly."

"So far, I’m not impressed. They are terrible at providing prescriptions to the pharmacy in a timely manner. I called last week giving ample time and they were contacted by my pharmacy as well. Going without these medications can be dangerous to my health. The prescription request to my doctor still hasn’t reached the pharmacy. Very sad care indeed. I need these prescriptions to help stay healthy. If I didn’t already suffer severe insomnia I could lose sleep over this."

"This is a review of Sutter Imaging's phone-answering and web-site information. I called the number on the Brookings-Harbor Sutter Imaging page to make an appointment. The person who answered the phone said, in a low monotone, "Sutter [mumble]." I had to ask if I were speaking to someone at Sutter Imaging. She said "Yes" [that's all]. I tried to make an appointment. She said I had to call Stacey at Sutter Hospital. I asked why the web page listed the phone number I called. "I dunno; you have to call Stacey in radiology." So I called Radiology at Sutter Hospital and learned that they had no record of my doctor's "order." Such an order has to be faxed, not phoned in. That's because they like to use their fax machine. I could not even be put on the waiting list, even though I was calling for a mammogram because my dermatologist was suspicious of something on my breast. He called my family physician during my exam to get me seen as soon as possible. But I have to wait till the fax from my family physician's office arrives at Sutter Hospital so that I can get a rather urgent mammogram at the Brookings-Harbor Imaging Center. I thought it would, given what the dermatologist said and the speed with which he reacted, be good for my own doctor to be able to see a 3-D mammogram. Sutter Imaging, even in Brookings, has the best technology. But they don't make it easy for a person to access it. "No hurry in Curry," right? Not in some parts of Del Norte, either."
