"Great place to stay for any event. Restaurant food is good, if overpriced. But then it’s worth it to be up in such an awesome environment. My go to place for coffee whenever I hike in the park. The tiny cabins are awesome, clean and comfy. I am updating this after my stay recently. Unfortunately the lighting in my cabin was just bare bulbs without shades. It was glaring and uncomfortable. Also, the water heater under the sink was not working. I told them this in person. The maintenance guy came over and confirmed that the heater was broken but that they didn't have a replacement. He then told me there were showers in the meeting hall that were for guest use. No one ever told me that in the three times that I stayed there. It wouldn't have mattered though since the men's room light was out so I wouldn't have been able to shower anyway in the dark. Then I noticed I was sent an email late in the day asking what kind of lights were in my cabin. Since there is no internet or phone at the cabin I don't understand why they would send me an email that I couldn't get asking for information they should have or for which they could send someone to look themselves. When I finally responded with an email explaining all the problems I had as I was leaving I never ever got a response from anyone. This is absolutely unacceptable. I probably won't stay here again."
"Had such a great time staying here even during a snowfall (they kept their access plowed) Check in was easy. Staff was very accommodating to any and all needs/questions we had while staying. Love being able to have bonfires in the main area Wood was supplied so that was one less thing to pack on the trip. Nature trails were great at the Silver Falls hiking. Would love to stay again"
"Smith Creek Village cabins are comfortable, but definitely not posh. Our cabin had two twin beds, a bathroom with a shower, a tv, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, and a microwave. It is conveniently located near the Big Leaf Coffeehouse and a short drive from South Falls. Food options at the park are limited (the reason for the 3 stars for service) especially during the week, so be prepared to either drive out of the park for dinner, or bring something to microwave most days. Bag lunches can also be ordered in advance, and I believe South Falls Cafe (near South Falls in the park) serves food daily from 10 am until 4 pm daily. The new Big Leaf Coffeehouse serves dinner on weekends, breakfast on weekdays, and a Sunday brunch. Of course, these may change over time and perhaps by season, so check first. The reservation people were very informative in this regard. We were pleased with the accommodation overall. Nothing fancy, but this is rustic park accommodation. The cabins are reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable. Being able to spend time at the Falls and relax in our room afterward was well worth it. I have stayed at the cabins several times over the past decade and would definitely recommend them. If you want a slightly more "Temperate Rainforest" experience, ask for the Upper Smith Creek cabins, a little further out in the woods, with a shared shower facility and outside firepit (fires may not always be permitted)."
"We booked a tiny cabin and got an "upgrade" to a big house that looked it would be rented out by a boyscout group or something. It was okay. Very clean which is great. Bare bones amenities which was fine. Not a resort by any means. The little restaurant on the grounds was the best part. It's quite nice and the food was really good. Great spot to start the day before hiking/biking."
"We had our wedding at smith creek village and stayed two nights in the Calypso cottage. We used the ceremony meadow for our ceremony and McKenzie meadow for our reception. The park is such a beautiful setting and was perfect for our wedding and photos! The calypso cottage was roomy and comfortable. We had a DIY wedding and the staff helped us move our stuff to the ceremony and reception areas for set up. We hope to be back to stay again soon!"
