"Look, I love this place. I pay for the membership. I want to give it five stars, but I can't. The staff are amazing, the film selection is phenomenal, and the theater itself is really cool, but the audiences... For some reason, the crowds here are the WORST of any theater I've ever been to, anywhere in the US. People will have conversations at regular volume throughout the movie, and this happens at more than half the screenings I go to regardless of how packed the theater is or where I sit. You also occasionally get someone making a ton of noise in the courtyard, which sucks if you happen to be in Theater 2 that day. The audiences here treat it like it's their living room couch, not an establishment with other paying customers. It's incredibly distracting and ruins the viewing experience. I never encounter this issue at the Metro (or even big chain theaters, for that matter), so if you're looking for some peaceful moviegoing then I would recommend them instead. Despite showing a lot of the same movies and being run by the same people, the Metro manages to draw crowds that actually know how to behave in public. The Art House absolutely deserves all the praise it gets, but I can't fully recommend it without fair warning about what its patrons are like. I'm not sure what staff could realistically do about it, but I think it's worth mentioning. It would be the easiest five stars in the world if they had respectful audiences."
"The Art House is a unique theater. The building is like a blend of a large house with a small church. The exterior landscaping is inviting and the interior intriguing. We paid $9 online to see Maestro which is competitive. . The concessions service was blase. I was quite pleased that AH offers real butter on top of the popcorn with reasonable prices. The theaters are quite intimate and the seats very comfortable. We found the sound to be too high a volume. Hopefully this is not the norm."
"The place itself is as magical as any movie has been. If Eugene, Oregon has a soul as a city, this is part of it."
"The Art House is absolutely my favorite place to see a movie. The small theaters and friendly patrons make for a fun and memorable experience."
"What a unique spot ! This is a great theater ! Very intimate and cozy. You walk into the theater and immediately are at the cashier for tickets. To the left is a hang out chill area with a couch and a couple of tables. The concession is right there as well as the first room , walk past the concession to the left there is a courtyard that leads to the bathroom (right) or the other theater (straight ahead). You decide which movie you want to watch and off you go. At the concession stand they’re equipped with popcorn , candy , a barista if you want an espresso or coffee , one of their homemade lemonades or tea , and even beer! What a vibe I really enjoyed the theater. Not only was the room super cool and had very cool artwork and stained glass throughout the room , but the chairs were amazingly comfortable. So comfy I wish the legs went up but still was very comfortable even just with leaning back legs on the floor. The popcorn was great , regular butter or with garlic Parmesan is great. But I must say the caramel corn was so delicious it literally was melting as you chewed thru it. And also they had some mean cookies. Overall they’re snacks and drinks are amazing. The staff and service was amazing. Very nice, so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back !"
