"My mom and I stayed in the Nantucket Inn unit #1 this last weekend and had a very unpleasant stay to say the least. First of all, they let us know last minute that our hot tub was out of commission. secondly, as I walked through the house I immediately noticed rust on the curtain rods, like a lot of rust. There are no curtains in the kitchen so everyone on the beach can look through at whatever you're doing in the kitchen along with the neighbors. The furniture was torn and falling apart. You could not even use the kitchen door to get outside on the porch. The WORST part was during our first day there the ceiling had significant water damage and was leaking so bad that when we came back from dinner our kitchen floor was flooded. I called Meredith lodging and got ZERO help and was told the maintenance guy would be right over. The Maintenance guy showed up later the next day to bring us a bucket and said that the property owners have "unsuccessfully" fixed this issue. Why would you actively have guests staying in a place that is clearly falling apart and unsafe for people to stay in and then not attend to the issue at all? If this has been an ongoing problem, why were we not informed of this and accommodated? We would have never rented this place knowing what we know now. The ONLY decent part of this property was the view, otherwise I will never rent this place or from Meredith lodging ever again. I still have yet to speak to a manager and get a refund as we spent over $1000 to stay in a place that is literally falling apart. I am very unsatisfied and will never recommend this company or property to anyone. They clearly do not care about their property or guests, they only want your money. Please choose wisely and make sure there is no issues with your rental before staying. These people need to be shut down. I have videos and pictures of these concerns so management can't deny their faults. Take responsibility for your business and property."
"The view does not get much better, but the Inn is overpriced and underperforms. Really expensive cleaning and service fees! $913 for two nights in November. Our booking included two separate rooms on different floors, even though the description said it was a studio with one bathroom. Bathroom fan didn’t work and super slow pressure on the jacuzzi tub, so be prepared for about 40 minutes to fill up. It lacked thoughtfulness with the appearance of the rooms and felt more like a motel. To access the beach you need to walk past an other rooms bedroom and dining windows in a way that is uncomfortable for both parties."
"We spent our honeymoon weekend, or “mini-moon,” at The Nantucket Inn. We stayed in suite #2, which included a fabulous private hot tub outside on the ocean-front deck. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic. You could sit back, and the edge of the hot tub looked like it was right against the ocean waves. The suite was beautiful and spacious. We were pleased to have a full-size refrigerator and microwave, plus a small coffee maker. There were many issues with communication, however. Meredith Lodging took over managing this property between the time we made the reservation and the date of our stay. The previous management company offered lovely honeymoon options like champagne, rose petals, and chocolates. I contacted Meredith Lodging after they took over to ask if they offered anything similar. I was willing to pay extra to make it special. Their response was abrupt and uninspiring. “No, we don’t do anything like that. We could put a bottle of wine in the room if you want.” Not exactly enthusiastic, but I thanked them and said we would appreciate that. Upon check-in, there was no bottle of wine, so apparently they forgot. Issues continued from there. The hot tub was pad-locked with no instructions anywhere for how to unlock it. We called; no answer on the phone, so we left a voicemail, sent a text, and sent an email. No response, so we called again. Finally, we were told there was a numeric code for the pad-lock. I checked my “welcome text” but found no code. The representative said it was probably emailed to me. I searched through the many emails I received from Meredith Lodging, as well as the “guest portal,” but there was no hot tub code. They sent the code to me by text, and we were able to unlock the hot tub, but this was not a pleasant start to our weekend. Then there were annoying things like a coffee pot in the room but no coffee, so we had to go to the grocery store in the morning to buy coffee grounds. It’s fine to not provide coffee, but it should be clearly communicated. If you advertise a kitchenette with coffee maker, many guests will mistakenly understand this to mean that coffee will be provided. There were wine glasses and coffee mugs but no other dishes or utensils, except paper bowls and plastic utensils which previous guests left behind, fortunately for us. When we needed the Wi-Fi password, again, we had to call. It was nowhere in the room, nowhere in the correspondence from Meredith Lodging, and nowhere that I could find in the “guest portal.” Finally, the jetted bathtub in our bathroom did not appear to work. We could use the shower, but we could not figure out how to fill the bathtub. I called (again), and the only way they could help was to send a maintenance worker. Overall, communication was by far my biggest issue with our stay. We were only there two nights but had to call for assistance multiple times both days. The last thing you want on your honeymoon is constantly talking to staff members or having maintenance come to your room. We were offered things that we never received, and were unable to use all the amenities. The private, ocean-front hot tub saved our weekend, but I think Meredith Lodging has room for improvement in managing this property."
"My wife's reserved this room 3 months in advance and specifically requested a balcony which she was told we had in our room. When we got to our room there was no balcony. There was hair and a visible water line in the bathtub. The windows were dirty. The gas stove we could not turn down so we roasted the entire first night. The next day I turned off the gas to the stove so that we can at least have one good night. My wife and I were meeting our kids who had separate hotel rooms that they paid a lot less for and they had a balcony and a clean room. When we called and complained about our accommodations we were told sorry for the misunderstanding and operate 10% discount on our next visit. Which by the way will never happen. This was our first vacation in over 10 years. And it was completely ruined by the management unwillingness to honor the accommodations that they said they would deliver. Definitely not worth the money."
