"This property is one of the very few available for the area. The room was clean. The bathtub was nice and deep. They did run out of hot water, which was unfortunate. The view was amazing. The beds are old spring beds, thankfully we were so exhausted we didn't notice too much, but they were not comfy. The latch to the sliding glass door was broken, so it didn't close and rattled all night. The walls are all very thin, you can hear pretty much anything next door or anyone walking by your room. All in all a very basic standard 3 star motel. Also should be noted you have to take the stairs to get to the second floor. We didn't mind but others might."
"I didn't find the office staff friendly or concerned about the comfort or safety of their guests. The outdoor lighting didn't work and the staff couldn't be bothered to fix the situation with new light bulbs. Neither smoke detector was functional and the promised batteries never appeared. It took 3 days to get more paper towels. There were at least 5 maintenance issues that hadn't been fixed for a very long time, in spite of at least one of them being in a previous review. Unit #3 (queen loft) does indeed sleep 4 people, but the sofa bed is only comfortable for small children. The kitchen is poorly set up for actual cooking and eating (there were no baking pans for the oven). We were given a USED kitchen sponge and had to request potholders. The room cleaning staff were the only friendly staff members we encountered during our 10 day stay. Honestly, the view and the fireplace are the only two things I would recommend about this room and I won't be returning."
"After residing at this location for over four years and consistently receiving positive reviews, we've noticed a significant decline since new owners took charge. Our recent experience in Room 3 was far from satisfactory—starting with a bathroom door that wouldn't shut and a kitchen lacking essential pots and pans. Despite reaching out multiple times for assistance, the issues persisted. Additionally, we had assembled a grill for the property in the past three years, yet it was nowhere to be found when requested. A cookie sheet provided was impractically large for the tiny oven, and the kitchen light was non-functional. Disturbingly, our neighbors' hound dogs were left unattended for the entire three hours of our stay, incessantly barking. Despite bringing this to management's attention, we were informed they couldn't address the matter. To make matters worse, the on-site DVD locker, meant to offer entertainment, turned out to be empty when we tried to borrow movies to drown out the dog noise. Disheartened by the overall experience, we decided to leave after just three hours. The management's promise of a 10% refund on a nearly $200 room only resulted in a $14 reimbursement from Terrimore. I called to ask about this and management hung up on me. Our advice: steer clear of this establishment!"
"We have been staying at this place for over 15 years. It was a quiet little place, great views, okay rooms, pleasant staff and affordable prices. You could tell the (previous) owners took pride as they were constantly renovating the rooms. We never had an issue at the Terimore. We recently tried booking - it took several calls before anyone answered and when they finally did the price was over $500 for 2 nights! When we heard the price we responded with "this is the Terimore, right?" Obviously we did not book. In no way is this place worth that much, the only thing they have going for are the views and I'm not about to spend that much to look at the bay. Shame that the new owners jacked up the prices - that place was once our little getaway, unfortunately, not any more. Seems like I'm not the only one too by the looks of the other reviews. Sad"
"My family has been coming to the Terimore for over 20 years. Ownership has changed, Management has changed …. And thru it all we’ve continued to stay here. This year we found out about a change as we were checking in and we were so upset about it that we immediately searched for another location. After over 20 years. We were that upset. This current reservation was for four nights in order to spend three days crabbing in the nearby bay. Over the course of our stay, the on-premises staff were so kind and helpful that we’ve decided to stay with the Terimore. Is it immaculately clean? No. It’s a motel on the coast. It’s an older building and a bit rustic in amenities. But: Mark and Mandy and the other staff were helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The bed was so comfortable I slept better here than I do at home. The views are amazing and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. We already made our reservations for next year."
