"Visited Seaside from out of town and decided to book a night here for a weekend getaway trip (via Expedia). It was a terrible experience. We ended up checking out the same day to find a different hotel. 1. From the start, we had difficulty finding where check in was located. There was no signage for "Check in at Inn at the Prom" anywhere and they also didn't email us on where to find check in nor was it on their website. We had to ask others and found out that it's located behind the property. As we got in, there was no one at the front desk. We waited for a good 10 minutes to find the check in person coming out of the bathroom with headphones in so he didn't hear us calling ahead of time to see if we could check in early/where to find check in. While unloading our luggage into the cottage room, we also had to direct another couple to find the check in location. 2. My friend and I ended up in one of the cottage rooms and the smell inside the room wasn't pleasant. It smelled moldy and musty but we thought that maybe it was so close to the beach that it would probably have some smell to it. But even if the room was decently clean, there was also two locks on the entrance door but one didn't work whereas the other lock, we had difficulty locking from the outside. Considering that the room wasn't in a secured building and anyone outside can come in, this was a major safety concern as the locks didn't feel secured. 3. Due to the weather conditions (rainy/windy), we decided to stay the night in. We thought of having a simple movie night would be fine but for some reason, we couldn't get their Netflix to work. It kept logging us out or being extremely laggy. We just thought that their internet was down so I decided to call the front desk about their internet and the locks and again, no answer. It was probably around 6pm at this time and the weather conditions were still bad so I didn't want to go outside to go to their office but after multiple tries, I decided to go to the front desk. When I walked in, I found that there was a different person at the front desk and he was playing video games on the desk computer instead of answering calls .... That was when I decided that we were going to check out early for safety concerns and would like to request a refund. He ended up calling the manager and they said that I would have to request the refund through Expedia. I made the call the same night, gave them all of my valid reasonings for a refund and waited 72 hours for Expedia to get back to me. After 72 hours, Expedia told me that they tried getting in contact with Inn at the Prom and they couldn't get ahold of anyone there to authorize my refund. Overall, I'm still trying to get my full refund back. Expedia has reached out to them multiple times, no answer. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone."
"This review is specifically geared towards the outstanding customer service I received when I had to call and change a reservation. It was a situation that needed more than just a date change and Esteban, who helped me, went above and beyond to accommodate my request(s). He was very patient and worked with my business travel needs. I would HIGHLY recommend Inn at the Prom without hesitation. Esteban is a true asset to this business! Thank you so much for helping me out!"
"We have stayed in various units here & some are outstanding. Unit 203 is where we are staying this trip & it has been very nicely refurnished & remodeled. It is a lovely unit & extremely clean & well appointed. Great views right on the 'Prom'. This complex is very close to town. We would stay here next time."
"I like this place. It's right on the beach and everything you can possibly do in town is within walking distance. I didn't expect to have a fully furnished kitchen. I'd definitely stay here in the future"
"Was on a vacation with my boyfriend at the time and this was our first visit to Oregon. We just had a loss in the family as well so we were hoping to get away and enjoy ourselves. The rooms are beautiful and the video shows our wonderful view from our room. Cozy little fireplace (not an actual one, it’s gas) as well along with heater, robes, and a jacuzzi tub. Our first night we arrived at 7-8 and happily settled into our room. I’ve never stayed an Inn so maybe this was my short coming? The way the rooms are structures are almost liked bedrooms. The hallways remind of a bedroom hallway. We had my yorkie with me and while he’s fairly quiet, he will bark if disturbed. My boyfriend and I went out to eat at 8:15 a.m. and finished eating at 9 am. I know because his credit card get a time stamp when used. We were getting one last thing due to the loss in our family when we got a call shortly after (9:30 a.m.). That our dog was barking and we needed to come get him because he was disturbing the other guests. It was strange to hear because like I said, my dog doesn’t bark unless provoked. We drove back (only 20 mins per GPS) and when we got there we found the Halloween decoration semi shoved under our door along with two other door signs with some neighborly messages for us. At the end of the day, it’s a PET friendly hotel. Just like it’s also KID friendly. You’re going to hear noise so I was expecting the front desk to explain that. We weren’t even gone a whole hour? I’m the type of person to handle things directly but due to the loss and considering we were leaving the next day (only a 2 night stay) I left it alone. The walls are immensely thin in the Inn since I so loudly heard my neighbor finding pleasure with himself or his partner. Instead of shoving things under the door and calling the front desk, I understood this is a public place and I’m going to hear noise. Just like I’d hear kids laughing and dogs barking all day on the beach, if I book a hotel or Inn, I can’t expect COMPLETE silence. So if you decide to stay here, just be wary to who your neighbors are. The service seems nice and the rooms and locations are wonderful but the other guests can be quite frankly; a**holes."
