"If we could rate this place negative stars we would! We were new to the area and this was the only place with availability, unfortunately they made us pay for full time childcare even though we only needed AM care, they offered the kids some unique food options that my 3.5 year old would not eat and they did not communicate to us that our daughter was not eating the entire time she was there. They promised arts and crafts projects but we never saw any projects after being there for a couple months. Also, our daughter was having extreme temper tantrums every day when I would pick her up. This was a very cold environment with a lack of communication about our child. Luckily we found a new place for our daughter and she’s back to her very happy, bubbly self! Unfortunately our issues with Kids World did not stop after we unenrolled her, they charged us for 2 weeks of childcare after we took her out plus a ridiculous amount for late fees. They refuse to work with us regarding the fees. Please find somewhere else for your babies, where they are open with communication and reasonable costs and fees."
"Our daughter always had a big smile when we'd come to pick her up and she got very attached to the staff. They truly cared for her and were very attentive. I cried more picking her up for her last day and saying goodbye than I did on her very first day. The only downside is we wish they were a little more technological but we understand it helps keep costs down. We were very happy with their care and feel so lucky our daughter got to attend. She was stimulated by the bigger kids in her classroom and I think she started crawling earlier because of that! Thank you for taking such great care of our little one. I wish she was older so she could remember how wonderful you are."
"Bottom line, trust someone else. This is the opinion and perspective of a previous assistant teacher, they treat their employees badly and communication is inconsistent and poor, which definitely reflects on the actual child care. Kids do not get mistreated, don’t get me wrong. However, they do unprofessional “tests” and “training” that, in my opinion, are unethical, and then are called “on the job training”. Example: Before I left my position, the owner approved an idea from the supervisor and cook to test the teachers: while teachers were outside with their classrooms, the cook (who the kids know and trust) quietly summoned two boys inside within the gated area as soon as one of the teachers turned out, and waited to see how long it took them to find the kids. For the record, us teachers found them in about 5-10 minutes, and It took that long because they were taken all the way inside the office, and we thoroughly searched the entire outside area and in the two classrooms they could’ve gone in.This was quite upsetting for many reasons. The kids didn’t know what was happening and should be able to trust those who are caring for them, their parents were unaware that they were going to be “fake kidnapped”, and the teachers outside were forced to be in trouble and were written up. This is what’s considered “training”, and for the rest of the time, you are never taught how they want things done, you are just told when you’re doing something wrong. Never once did I feel trust or confidence with my employers or management. Plus, if you truly need full time, you may not get it here, it’s a gamble, they send teachers home early constantly to ensure that no one gets paid even a minute of overtime, and it’s very frustrating. They do the least amount possible in regards to employee state rights, sometimes less and it was a very poor and stressful work environment. Also, In my time there, the standards were subpar as far as classroom expectations went, until it was time for state rating and observations, then and only then did they “put on show” and increase their classroom supplies, teacher training, and curriculum expectations, etc."
"If you have an infant that your trying to get into this place good luck!! I called when I was 5 months pregnant to get my daughter on the list. She is 2 months and still on the waiting list!! #5 to be exact! Also Mary the supervisor is rude! Every time I call to check on my daughters status she is never nice and has an attitude for some reason."
"I have put my name on a waiting list probably over a year ago, so long I actually forgot I put my two youngest on their waiting list. I received a call from Mary yesterday whom left a message (Monday) saying my name came up on their list and asked if I was still in need of care to call back by Tuesday evening. Today (Tuesday morning) I call and speak with the same gal. She starts explaining how in June she had a space open up for one of the rooms but not space for both kids (whom are different ages) so she didn't call me because on the waiting list it says specifically don't contact if there is not room for both kids. Obviously, at this point I am a little confused...."So you don't have room for both kids?" she replies "No" then proceeds to explain how I had been on the list so long, she didn't call in June because there wasn't even room for both kids (which was necessary because I don't know anyone who wants to drive two kids to two different daycare centers every day). I said "I am confused, so there is not room for both kids, so I am not sure why i'm getting this call then to tell me my name came up again?" I had zero intent of being rude what so ever, I was simply confused and trying to understand the reason for the call. I told her that she could remove my name from the list because she sounded extremely rude and got all irritated (easy to hear in someones voice over the phone) and I wouldn't feel comfortable sending my kids here after that experience anyway. This is exactly why I stay home with my children. You cannot trust anyone. No one has patience and understanding anymore. Customer service has gone completely bottoms up and at least when my kids are in my care I know they are safe, understood and no one is going to lose their patience with them. The fact that they only have 3 reviews on here says a lot. they may be 5 star but some businesses will have employees write reviews for them and this to me would make sense. I have dealt with a lot of childcare centers in tri cities and have never been satisfied with one of them 100%. After hearing that lady speak to me on the phone as her tone changed to completely annoyed with me for no reason (other than having to clarify her reason for calling) was beyond me. I don't know how people like that maintain jobs and I hope her and her boss see this. Have a pleasant day!!!"
