"I purchased engineered hardwood for my master bedroom and paid for installation. The flooring was delivered a few weeks prior to the installation in order to acclimate to the conditions in my home, and also because I wasn't going to be prepared for the installation until a much later date. Home Depot had given me a time of day when the flooring would be delivered, which was mid-morning around 10 a.m. At 7:30 a.m. on the day I expected the flooring to be delivered, I received a phone call from one of the two men who had the flooring, letting me know that they were on their way to my house and would arrive in a few minutes. I explained that I had just gotten up and wasn't prepared to have them show up so early. The man I spoke to balked at not being able to come at that time, but I insisted that they arrive a bit later, which they did. Clearly, these two delivery men were annoyed that I had disrupted their schedule and treated me quite rudely when they showed up. A father-son installation team that Home Depot provided were from an installation service in Eugene. On the day that was scheduled for the installation, these two men showed up entirely unprepared to do the installation. They failed to bring a tool that was needed to install the flooring, and the son also insisted that it was I who was expected to have the furniture removed from this space, even though I had paid Home Depot extra for furniture moving. They also did not bring a furniture dolly with them, and the son insisted they were not expected to move furniture because of this. The son spoke English; the father neither spoke English nor did he understand English. The son kept pointing out on their paperwork that I had not paid to have them move the furniture. Both his paperwork and mine clearly showed that I had paid extra for moving X-number of pieces of furniture, and I ended up phoning both Home Depot and the company in Eugene that employed these installers. Home Depot didn't seem to be interested in solving this problem, but the installers' company did and apologized for the mistake. The men had to return to Eugene without starting the installation, but returned the following day. On the second day when they arrived prepared to do the installation, the son was extremely rude to me, which I assumed was because he and his father had been reprimanded by their company for what took place, or rather, what had not taken place, a day earlier. The installation was completed in one day, but the installers were rough with my furniture, and an IKEA armoire they moved got damaged and they damaged two of my brand new doors in the hallway. Also, some of the planks that were installed along one wall in my bedroom were installed too far out from the wall and, as a result, there was some difficulty in properly installing new baseboard afterward due to the deep gap. I hired someone on my own to install the new baseboard and he found a number of issues with the flooring installation and thought it was poorly done. When I brought this to the attention of Home Depot, their response was something on the order of "Oh, well." This was a horrible experience, but one I will never subject myself to in the future, as I will never again purchase another thing that requires installation from Home Depot."
