"Loved coming here growing up, it always brings me a little bit of nostalgia coming in here for the occasional game or two."
"Bought a super Mario switch controller, got in the car, opened it. This controller was so tiny I’m convinced it was made for kids. It doesn’t say anything about being made for kids despite the obvious size difference. I went back to the store less than an hour later, receipt in hand. They changed their return policy to where you can’t get a return unless the product is unopened. Ridiculous, I held it in my hands once and I put it back in the box just how it was. They can’t afford to allow returns but they can make billions off of selling games/accessories. Go on Amazon or Walmart."
"Purchased a headset as a gift, unfortunately it was defective and had to be returned. When the headset was returned to the store, the staff did nothing to make the sale right. In fact they pushed the responsibility onto the recipient of the gift and told him to call other stores to track down a replacement. When confronted about their lack of customer service, their response was that they are not required to find a replacement. Received much better service and a better price from Walmart. 100% would never recommend this store to anyone."
"The Corvallis OR store needs a new manager. We waited on line for over 3 hours PAST the game release for zelda. Because the store manager decided to start a raffle at 9:15pm with two lines going separate ways down the block. He sent some associate out to survey the crowd asking if we preordered and if we wanted a chance to get the special edition. This caused a hold up for 1.5 hours, followed by the store manager selling copies to people and saying he may not be able to fulfill pre-orders, he also stated that he ran out of the pre-order bonus plaques because he was giving them away to people who were just buying, and promised them to his associates, who come first. The store manager used this opportunity to act like a used car salesman and try to not only upsell zelda things, but anything in the store that he felt people needed. I witnessed him take multiple people to multiple products and explain the reasons they would need said product, instead of moving the lines forward so people could get their preorders. I along with the people of corvallis OR are disgusted by this clown, he is the biggest joke of gamestop. I know it's hard, especially large scale pre-order events, but to have a store manager literally not pre-ring people up, try to upsell, and then admit to almost running out of product and pre-order bonuses because of their incompetence, its embarrassing. Not to mention if we have to hear him argue with anybody else, about why elden ring is better than zelda I'm sure someone will buy all the copies of elden ring just to destroy them. Chris is in the wrong profession, he does not belong in gamestop, he is under qualified, not professional and cannot see past his own clouded judgment to understand the needs of his associates, customer base, or anyone beyond himself. Picture is midline wait at 8:50pm"
"The manager Chris and the other staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a frustrating experience at another gamestop where they sold me a defective game with scratches that made it unplayable. When I tried to return it they said they couldn't do anything except buy it back for a fraction of the price I bought it for. When I come to this location the manager Chris was very understanding and even offered cash back. Instead I bought another game and he took the price of the defective game off the original price of the game I was buying. It made my day and I was very happy with the service provided here. Definitely will be coming back to this location for future purchases of my games."
