"We are not sure what happened because a straight answer from Fidelity, taking responsibility for the root cause of their error, was never provided to us. The funds were to be wire transferred, but instead of paying attention to this VERY important detail, someone decided to issue a business check for our sale proceeds instead. This caused our purchase closing to be delayed as the bank presently has a 5 business day hold on the funds and now we cannot close on our new home on time. Hopefully we don’t lose the purchase of the new property over this because if we do I foresee a lawsuit for significant monetary damages if this occurs. The operations manager offered nothing but weak excuses as to why they could not issue a stop payment on the check and reissue the payment via wire transfer. I would never recommend this company as they clearly refuse to take any sort of responsibility for their mistakes."
