I frequent Psanctum Thrift as a regular and it all started due to a love for thrift and living close by. Its morphed into the entire team making me feel welcome as a part of the group and even addressing me by name. The atmosphere is welcoming and kind, the inventory and donations are exceptional, and they price their inventory better than any thrift in Portland. "While wrapping up my 47th year on this planet, I'm thinking of all the great thrift stores I have known & loved. Ragstock in Minneapolis, for example - AWESOME! I love thrifting at the right places. That's why I'm writing this review - Psanctum Thrift is, hands down, the best, most authentic and original thrift store I have ever had the honor of knowing. AND, it's not just a thrift store - Psanctum Psychedelic Education Center is also incorporated. The concept of one place, with one mission, built on a foundational moral set of values and ethics, that stands for everything I believe in, is almost ineffable. Psanctum publishes educational articles and videos, curates an online digital archive, and hosts events like the Psanctum Speaker Series, the Psanctum Psychedelic Conference, monthly integration circles, and the weekly Psanctum Open Mic. They also operate Psanctum Thrift, which raises funds for psychedelic-assisted therapy, education, integration, and support. Psanctum also features an onsite Psychedelic Education Center, which is currently archiving the last materials of the Timothy Leary collection. I (and Eden & Tom at Psanctum) believe psychedelic experiences have the power to heal, inspire, and liberate the human mind, body, and soul. But these substances are only as powerful as our ability to understand, integrate, and support them. Psanctum works to contribute towards building a society where psychedelic experiences, education, and the strong communities necessary to process them, are accessible to all. With that said, the Thrift store in combination with the Education Center truly is awesome and worth checking out! Unique and hard to find stuff from the community (and all around the world) is often abundant. I know this because a) It's TRUE, and b) every time I'm there, I see and hear people expressing how amazing the Psanctum experience is. It just is what is is. And it is EPIC! Check it out. "Check this place out! They recently opened and deserve all the business! Great selection of clothes and actual thrift store prices (rare nowadays lol), while supporting a great cause! Staff were super sweet! They have changing rooms as well (not the best lighting, but spacious and functional!) I’ll def be coming back :))"
