"Self check out employee was very obviously profiling me which I found egregious. First off, I have never stolen, let alone from what used to be my favorite grocery store. I understand that self checkout has losses but no other Safeway has treated me this way. Second, looking at the other reviews this seems to be a pattern at this store. If you don’t walk in with Louis Vuitton or Gucci prepare to be profiled. I don’t suggest anyone who makes less than 6 figures shop here."

"Came here about a year ago and sat in the parking lot like 10 minutes before they opened and the security came out screaming at me from 60 yards away for 5 minutes instead of just walking up to my car and asking if I was there to shop or not. After those 5 minutes of them whaling like chimpanzees I rolled my window down to ask what they're screaming about and they're demanding I leave or I'll get arrested or whatever, so I try leave and they step in front of my car and keep me from leaving. Real Geniuses, fat too, weren't even wearing security clothes, looked like slobs that just rolled out of bed. Couldn't tell if I was getting robbed or not so I just rolled up my window and waited until they decided they were getting too much exercise and let me go so they can go eat some more French fries and put on some more weight to drown the sorrows of failing the police academy lmao Looks like somebody else made a review about their stuff getting stolen feet away from them while 3 security guards were on duty, looks like you have some real A+ Gomer Pyles here. Actually it looks like you have about 10 reviews of your security and staff just being the most polite, upstanding people that have terrible attitudes and only make contact with a customer when it's to follow them around and accuse them of stealing, while letting the actual thieves steal everything, pretty sad."

"Offers the typical things Safeway carries and it's a well lit and clean store. Maybe because it's fairly busy, or maybe because of the houseless frequenting that location, this store feels a little less welcoming than others I visit. Parking is under the store, so plan on the escalator or stairs; I'm not sure if there's an elevator."

"This was hands down the WORST Safeway experience that I have EVER had, and it has caused me to lose 100% faith in this company. Not only will I never be shopping at this location again, I will never be shopping at ANY Safeway again due to my experience. I came into the Barbur Boulevard location, and I had my bag and personal belongings stolen while I was at customer service. There was a security guard and THREE EMPLOYEES (INLCUDING A MANAGER) near there, and did not notice the unhoused individual stealing my belongings, or they chose not to say anything. When I asked the manager on duty (this was 1/17/2024 at approximately 5:30-6:00 PM) if she had seen my bag, she responded "I don't know, what do you want me to do about it?" When I noted that it was missing and stolen, she did NOTHING. She did not offer to help me call the police, she did not offer to check the cameras, NOTHING. In addition, her and various employees that I spoke to were extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. I had an absolutely horrible experience, this store should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I will never go back to this location again, and I will never go back to another Safeway or Albertsons again. You have lost my business as a customer, and I hope you're happy with your employees atrocious performance, You reap what you sow."
