"I tried to return a used copy of Battlefield 5 that was well within the right to return window and was refused because it was purchased at a different location. I feel frustrated because it doesn’t make sense that I should have to go to the original location if they are all the same GameStop company. This inconvenience makes me feel wary to patronize GameStop in the future."
"Called ahead to see if they had a pre-owned copy of Elden Ring for Xbox. The associate said they had two copies. I asked him to double check that they physically have one. He pretended to look and then told me that, yes, they definitely have it, and he agreed to hold it at the counter, as my girlfriend was gonna pop in really quick before work to buy it. 30 minutes later, she walks in and they are like, "oops, guess we don't actually have it." So the lazy incompetent who answered the phone just bold-face lied about verifying they have the disc in stock. So I figured, no big deal, I'll just order it from the Gamestop website. However, they charge $10.99 for shipping and "handling"! And for a single game. Ummm, no thanks. Used a community resale app, made an offer, and got it for $30 instead. So, thank you Gamestop for doing everything you possibly can to lose customers. It saved me ten bucks and any future trips to your sad and barren stores."
"Went to return a new ps5 controller and the manager said he couldn’t accept it that he would give me store credit because the box was a lil dirty. That guy shouldn’t be a store manager horrible customer service and a negative vibe. I cleaned the box and went to the Hillsboro store and no problem there. Never going to that store again. Customer service goes a long ways."
"It is my experience that every time I go to GameStop, if I don’t buy the membership they offer me each time, I am met with unpleasant comments and attitude. Not a big deal, I don’t take it personal. I simply don’t care enough. Today, however, it left me speechless. Benjamin at this particular store asked if I had a membership. I answered that I didn’t and that it’s ok because I wasn’t interested. He asked me if I knew what the membership did, and I said yes. To that he said that from now on I should only buy online and do store pick up because if I came to the store without a membership, it hurts the store so I should consider not coming to shop unless I order online. That is probably the most ridiculous thing I have heard anyone say."
