"Guy in the butcher block had no clue what he's doing. He initially labelled my chicken as some gourmet beef (making it ten times the normal price), and when called on it, he just replied "the machine does that sometimes". Whatever, it happens. But then when I asked him whether he even put the correct cut of chicken in the bag, he said "i don't know, i can't tell the difference". Like... you work in a butcher block, It's LITERALLY YOUR JOB to know the difference. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on."
"Bathrooms are disgusting. This is a grocery store put in a little effort. Hey manager learn how to manage! Seafood department stunk so bad walking by and further up. I feel like the employees and manager have just given up but are ruining an otherwise good store. Shame on all of you. GROSS!"
"I want to say how grateful I was for the wonderful customer service. I was in around 9:45, and I've been looking for the 18 pack brown organic eggs. A nice man whose normally in the meat department asked me what I was looking for. And he went back to look for the eggs. He came back with what I was looking for. I really appreciate his help."
"It is so hard to go shopping anymore. Needing to keep things in perspective of every thing to be aware of, from each person's own daily situations that regulate their actions in public, to the knowledge of the stress Retail people have to get through on their jobs from both the customers side to the Coworker/supervisor/company side. Stopped off st the deli, to be nice asked the Station, person how they were, their response was that they were not feeling well and was waiting to hear from her boss if she can be sent home. Looking at her sweat shined fade, it could be from the heat of the deli... or could it be from that she wasn't feeling well. Looking at her glove lined hand, the index finger cut out so her finger was bare.... maybe ordering from the deli today would not be the wisest. We now live in a world of so many illnesses floating around, I just did not feel comfortable, so I politely declined and went on my way. Thinking it would be something to mention to the manager, I stopped off at the customer service desk and the Apparent M O D turned to me after talking with a coworker, in a very apparent frustrated and at her wits end body language asked what I wanted. Right then and there I felt nope, not necessary to bother her as it did not feel like she would be receptive to yet another frustrating work thing and by no means do I ever want to be labeled a Karen. I usually use my shopping time as the get out of the house and do something that used to be fun for me. But between frustrated employees, snippy get in your faces customers, triggering people with mislabeling..... it just isn't fun to go shopping anymore. Needless to say, This Safeway from its Albersons birthing, has not been an enjoyable store to go too. Only as an absolute on the way get in and never go to the deli kind of thing."
"I recently tried the online pickup service at a specific Safeway location and was utterly disappointed. Regrettably, this wasn't an isolated incident. On numerous occasions, out of an order of approximately 20 items, only 8-10 were actually fulfilled. A service that's marketed as a convenience ends up being anything but. Today's experience added to my dissatisfaction. Out of the 6 items I ordered, which were simple everyday items like flour, carrots, and butter, a staggering 4 items were marked as out of stock. The real frustration hit when I decided to walk into the store and discovered 3 of those 4 "out of stock" items in plentiful quantity on the shelves. In an attempt to address the issue, I tried using the chat function on Safeway's website. However, this feature never led me to an actual human representative. Moreover, the app itself is restrictive when it comes to reporting issues with orders. It appears you can only report a problem if you received a damaged item, leaving no avenue to address discrepancies like the ones I experienced. It felt as if the store had employed individuals who didn't prioritize ensuring that ordered items were genuinely out of stock before marking them as such. To add insult to injury, I had an encounter with a customer service representative who, after hearing my frustrations, merely said, "there was nothing he could do about it." Furthermore, he tried to rationalize the discrepancy in stock availability by stating that an item could be marked as unavailable during the picking process, only for it to appear on the shelf later due to restocking. This justification felt nonsensical, especially considering the timeline of my previous order. For those seeking a more reliable online pickup experience, I'd highly recommend placing your order at the TV Highway location or the one in Tanasbourne. These stores seem to value customers' time and ensure orders are fulfilled correctly. In summary, the online pickup service at this Safeway needs serious improvement. The frequent inconsistencies between my orders and what's actually provided, compounded by the ineffectiveness of their customer service channels, raise concerns about the accuracy of their inventory system and the competency of their staff."
