Elmer's Restaurant (Grants Pass, OR)

"Ordered about 6p.m. fish n chips, French toast, chowder, burger n fries. Was completely awful clam chowder!! Worst I have ever had and usually Elmer's had good chowder! It was so old the few clams were so dried up and splitting like cardboard! Found something very sharp nearly choking on it getting stuck. I think 1 lil potato and it tasted really sweet! Almost like slaw dressing. Had to throw it out. Fish was way over dressed and oily and wasn't much fish inside of them. A piece fell out..that was the only piece inside the long strip! It came with a few fries..for what we paid that was ridiculous! The French toast...was just plain bread basically. The burger was ok but 4got the lettuce and tomato and again, maybe 15 fries..I had to give him mine..see in pic. For the 53.00 that was a bad meal. So disappointed in Elmer's. Use to be the to go place for fish n chips and especially chowder! Please go back to good quality food. Have no idea why can't add the pics but no option."

"Went for breakfast and this was the first time I ate inside. Cozy, homey vibes, very nice server, and the food was FANTASTIC! Our server even gave me a refill of my drink to go! Pictured is my partner’s hot cocoa!"

Built on the foundation of Walt Elmer’s famous buttermilk pancakes, the original recipe for pancake batter was purchased for $1,000 and rumor has it that Walt kept it locked in his safe. We still use Walt’s original recipe today! Over the years, the menu was expanded with lunch and dinner items and the restaurant became Elmer’s Pancake & Steakhouse.
