"Worst experience here. After describing a six month battle with horrible nerve pain that runs along my upper jaw, numerous doctor and dental appointments, he taps on my teeth and says it's not tmj, and basically I need to brush better. What a waste!"

"I had two splints made by dr. Summer. The first was ok but just a temporary fix. The second was done after shaving off some composite material in the back and It really made my very serious TMJ situation much worse. When I asked him to try to adjust the splint to help me. He essentially told me that I had to just get used to wearing them. So I had to seek care elsewhere. It was a very expensive process for me financially and time wise. It took me almost a year and a couple more dentists to recover. I had a very complicated situation, so not many dentists would know what to do for me and I know he has helped others. But I personally cannot recommend this office."

"I am no longer a patient, but went twice to get fitted with a mouth guard. The exam was not thorough, he only checked one side of my jaw. After 2 years of wearing the mouth guard my jaw is worse than ever. I now have teeth nashing during the day and muscle spasms that I never did before. Instead of listening to my problems he did a shallow diagnoses. It was so expensive and made my problem worse, not better. Please be wary for your own health and wallet. In response to the owner: The bite guard broke because of the increased jaw tension and has given me an open bite to the point I can barely chew. I live in NY now, but even if I didn't, I wouldn't come in for a "readjustment". The thing never worked, and I expect a mouth guard that cost $1200 with an out of pocket "discount" to last more than a few years. I seriously caution people desperate for pain relief to see someone else."

"Dr. Summer is incredibly knowledgable, professional, and a very easy to talk to doctor. During my visit he was very thorough and detailed in helping me understand what he was doing, why he was doing it and what his recommended treatment was. He has a level of expertise in TMJ that is far beyond any doctor I've ever dealt with. I also liked the TMJ Clinic office. Unlike a lot of other offices it has character and charm. The receptionist was very welcoming and made setting up as a patient easy and pleasant. All in all a really great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Summer!"
