Alley Gyros

"I have eaten here before, and it was fine, but this time was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had eating out. I did not eat what I ordered because I was not confident of its safety. I am unable to eat gluten, so I went here in hopes to get something I have ordered here before without issue: a gyro with rice instead of pita. Easy. However, I’m not sure if the management changed, or what, but they tried to convince me a meal that previously cost ~$9 now cost $16 because it had rice. I couldn’t afford that, so I was pressured into a salad instead for $12 (everything but the pita, but for $4 more). The salad portion was from a cold bar on which every ingredient looked old (previous times they had been fresh). The sauce bottles were so crusty the sauce wouldn’t come out (they used to put them in little single serve containers). The cashier did not wash their hands before handling the food. It was bad. I say this having worked in food service multiple years. I hope they can remedy this issue with sanitation and pricing inconsistency, but until then I’m not interested."

"Service is excellent and timely, and staff gladly answer questions about dishes and sauces etc. The storefront is very small with only about five seats, but the atmosphere is super friendly and homely, and you can always get takeout. The food is just GREAT. I especially love the lamb gyros and the rice plate with lamb stew (photo). Whatever dish you get, you can top it however you like from the topping cart with olives, tomatoes, tziki, etc. Highly recommend this place."

"The service and atmosphere were pretty good. This is a nice hidden gem in Corvallis. My only critique is of the meat for the Gyros. I got the lamb Gyro and in the first few bits it was great, but after really getting to taste the meat it wasn't what I had hoped. The marinade that it is soaked in is definitely over done. It made the meat too greasy and a bit too salty. But! The pita was great, and I got to add all my own toppings which really made the gyro better. I'd go back again but probably not get the lamb."

"Delicious Greek food!! The best gyro I've had in a very long time! Genuinely such a great small business. I love showing friends from out of town here for lunch. The chicken, lamb and falafel gyros are life changing. The sauces are delicious. Heather is very nice and provides great service every time without fail. I can't wait to come back."

"This place has been a favorite of mine for a while. They season their meat and fries very well, the topping are always fresh, and tzatziki always comes with your order. The portion size on the fries has gone down a lot, you used to get more than enough for 2 people for $5, now the portion is much smaller. They recently increased their prices, but they're still good."
