"No pain whatsoever after wisdom teeth extraction; no extraction-related anxiety due to "laughing gas" (which I opted for since I had to drive). The nitrous oxide "worked," technically speaking, in that it dissociated me (at one point, he mentioned it'd been several minutes since he'd walked in there last, but it felt like 30 seconds). It made me not care about the tooth extraction, but the emotion it provoked was more like "the love of my life just died" and not euphoria. People kept asking if I still wanted the NOS and being repeatedly asked to decide between being mentally present for a tooth extraction and being anguished sucked, but I couldn't communicate that because of the dissociation--the time-dilation made coherent speech somewhere between difficult and impossible depending on how much they were giving me. I have strong, negative reactions to drugs a lot, so I anticipated it and at least it wasn't a surprise."

"Dr. Jacks is an excellent Oral Surgeon. He has wonderful credentials and a calming demeanor. I have a well-earned fear of anything dental and an implant is definitely a big dental commitment. "I recently completed my series of appointments with Dr. Jacks. The series included five appointments: a consultation, tooth pulling and implant, and three follow-up visits over a span of four and a half months. The cost was explained to me at the consultation and I paid for all the appointments at once the day of the surgery. Throughout Dr. Jacks made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in good hands. He never hesitated to answer my questions or explain what he was doing in a straight forward, detailed and clear way which I really appreciated. The tooth pulling and implant placement was not painful and ibuprofen the first night was all the medication I needed.
