"They made my birthday breakfast very nice, were extremely diligent with service, and have actual homemade foods. Nothing generic, or premade from Sysco. Everything about their dishes was amazing and it’s cheaper, bigger and much higher quality than Shari’s. I was so satisfied that I ended up leaving a 50% tip. The only downside’s are that there is a limited amount of seating for such a popular establishment so sometimes you could imagine there’s a bit of a wait, and they don’t seem to offer a military discount yet. A Long communal restaurant table for 10 each would fit right through the center of this restaurant and would expand the capacity by double and reduce wait times. The way they make their chicken fried steak is well… amazing and their menu would be even more amazing if they added something like razor clams especially since the hilltop diner over near Canby shut down a few years ago leaving a large and loyal customer base at a loss for some great razor clams; I can imagine that this restaurant would make them even better based on their CFS recipe. The way they make their own delicious homemade breads makes me wonder if they one day plan on adding something like giant deep dish, pecan covered, heavily frosted cinnamon rolls to their menu which I know would be famous quickly based on their already high quality breads. It’d be also very nice to see some loaded baked potatoes on their menu. This type of restaurant is something that you should bring your family to often and support as much as you can because they’re very rare. I plan on coming back to try several of their other entrées."
"Cute little cafe in downtown McMinnville. Greeted promptly and told to sit anywhere on entry. I loved the kitschy decor, bright and colorful interior and all the antique advertising signage. I immediately ordered coffee which was on the table very quickly and offered refills before my cup was empty. We ordered a Mother Lode plate - which included biscuits and gravy sausage links, bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoes and a thick slice of toast - a veggie omelette and a slice of their Wildwood French toast to share. Food came out quickly and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. My companion's hot chocolate was fantastic and came out with whipped cream and sprinkles in a giant mug. Service was amazing. Server was right on top of everything, but not in the way. All and all an awesome experience and I'd definitely go back again."
"1st time here and came for the Melt Down fundraiser, it was delicious! Their homemade marionberry was scrumptious as well!"
"Probably the best fresh baked homemade bread I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It’s thick, but light and crunchy!! We loved it plain with butter and as French toast! We were driving to PDX from the coast and decided to drop by for breakfast and I’m so happy we did! The servers were all so friendly and sweet to us. I’m very picky with scrambled eggs and they cooked them perfectly! Potatoes with cheese, bacon, and over easy eggs were great as well!! Wish I could’ve tried the salsa though! Wish we could come again but definitely recommend to those passing through!"
