"We were going to go to Pig N’ Pancake for breakfast but their wait was over an hour. We found this place online. We drove up and not hardly any cars in the parking lot. It didn’t look open. Which I don’t think is a good sign. We pull up and there was some guy with a hose cleaning outside. We asked if they were open. He said yes. We said we had a group of 10. He immediately said that because of them being short staff, that we had to split up and sit at 3 separate tables. He didn’t even say it nice though. He was very rude. We should have just turned around and left right then. We went inside and the atmosphere was awful. Looked very rundown and just ugly. We did get seated right away and they sat us at 3 different tables. I don't get the difference between us just sitting together versus sitting at different tables. We are still ordering the same amount of food. Our server was very plain and had no personality. She moved so slowly. There was a few utensils on our table that were dirty. The food was ok. Nothing special at all. We won’t be back."
"It's been 6 years since our last visit, and I can see why the current Vivians' experience can be very polarizing. Vivians have not brought back the rest of the tables after Covid, so only 8 tables scattered around weirdly. The food was great, no issues. My only disappointment was that the Brisket Hash consisted of sauteed mashed potato cakes with a teeeny bit of brisket pieces scattered in, so hard to evaluate the brisket. Our server was clearly brand new and probably just helping out, so seemingly had great difficulty taking our order and delivering the right orders to the right tables. Be advised - get your coffee and OJ elsewhere."
"One of my favorite hidden gems on the coast. The food is delicious, the staff are amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect. We recently stopped for breakfast and we all were very pleased with the food and service. The portions were enormous so you definitely get your money's worth. The chicken fried steak was delicious, the biscuits and jam were amazing and tasted homemade. I would recommend stopping by for food anytime you're in town. We will definitely be back again!"
"Charming diner with great views of the river, it smelled delicious as we walked inside. I ordered the special of the day, German pancake with lemon cream and raspberries, it was very good. Tabitha was our waitress and she was so wonderful and great to talk to. We are definitely coming back!"
"It is CRIMINAL that this place isn't more popular or fully staffed. Every single thing that makes a good hole in the wall Vivian's EXCELS at. Clean, muted colors, inoffensive lighting. Crisp, clean, filtered air. Extremely friendly staff: They started lunch service nearly an HOUR EARLY just for my fiancé and I. Anything on the menu that includes their beautiful, succulent, smoked meat is a delight. The double stacked BBQ pork sandwich is my favorite, I was shocked to find out I enjoyed applesauce on a sandwich so much when paired with amazing pork. My fiance enjoyed the spinach salad melange, with giant and flavorful chunks of blue cheese. Will be back every chance we get."
