"Beautiful place, nice hike. It is a shame the city doesn't maintain it. The end of the loop is not walkable at all. The first loop is just one big swamp."
"I have talked to a lot of people there and according to them there is fish but it is really hard to catch one."
"10/9/22 Nice hidden gem in the city. Non motorized fishing and hiking trails available. 11/27/23 This former city park is now a part of the Red River Wildlife Refuge and as such is now managed as a nature preserve. You wouldn't find grills, a playground or picnic tables. You will find hiking trails, flora, fauna and wildlife including deer and a variety of birds.. The hiking trail is an easy out and back approximately 2.75 mi. A great trail for kids. Fishing is allowed with a onsite self permit. This preserve is prone to severe flooding considering its proximity to the Red River. (Photos from 11/27/23"
"C. Bickham Dickson is in need of an upgrade. Maybe picnic areas, more lake access, the dock they put in is pretty nice but it's over crowded and there is only maybe 30yards of total bank access to the lake. The rest is not easy to access. Recently I've seen deer there. Maybe feeders or put some deer crossings on the gates. I love the location and have high hopes for this lake. Hopefully it's soon taken care of."
"This is a great place for kayaking. Only the front part of the park is open which includes a dock, and small launch for kayaks, canoes and non-motorized boats. I am thankful for the volunteers who were able to get the front part open to the public."
