"See my BBB Review for more details. In summary this company is with holding 41,800 wired to them on 8/2 for a pool contract I signed same day. I was told that getting monies upfront would ensure they could meet my Housewarming party and be done by Labor Day Weekend. Ive since realized what was told to me and what was listed in the construction timeline was different and would allow them to claim they couldn't meet that agreed to date if permit took too long or weather was a factor. The owner has since advised me I should not have been told they could be done by Labor Day weekend for those reasons alone. After I uncovered on 8/11 that my permit had not been filed (which would cause further delay) and owner stated & apologized that they would not meet my housewarming party deadline. I made a decision to cancel contract with this company. Ive even learned that even before I canceled my contract that no materials for pool ( coping , decking and tile ) selected by me had been ordered although I was rushed to do so by 8/5 and told it would be ordered immediately so ensure deadline for pool was met. I have requested my money back in full several times since 8/12 and have been told by the son via text that I will not get a refund and that he is only willing to send back $1700. *I wired $1700 per his request to remove two trees in my backyard and learned he lied about having the right credentials to do so the morning of planned work. That money was sent on 8/8 and has yet to be returned. I have now declined accepting unless all funds are returned in full. This family business has misalignment on values and business approach. The dad seems to be a decent human being however has not ensured that my money is returned. He stands firmly on his reputation so I am leaning heavily on him to do the right thing and address the family issues/son's mistakes/training needs separate. My funds are sitting in the son's personal account and given he is representative of the company and I signed a contract with header Kimbrough Pools Inc and Spa my expectation is that the business resolve this swiftly. It is heartbreaking to think that any human would think it's okay to keep funds on a contract that was cancelled (due to no fault of mine ) and keep in mind it was canceled before zero work had been performed. The son wrote me stated that I can't just wake up one day and decide to cancel ( which he knew very well was not the case). I was also told if I spoke up ( in what they considered false claims) I would be sued for "breach of contract" .I was told by the owner that the son had already incurred some expenses so it may be better if I just go ahead and let them build my pool and I got a good deal. When asked how much money is left the dad advised he didn't know. The son texted me saying he had already paid the escavator deposit of $1000.00 and some other deposits ( no amounts other $ listed ). On 8/15 I requested proof of receipts and as of today have yet to receive. Since I paid in full my thought was that any material they ordered I could just used but I found out they didn't even order the coping, tile and decking as agreed to do on 8/5 as mentioned above. It is clear for me at this point they are not trying to resolve this quietly hence why I now decided to share my story to hopefully help others .I was caught with my guards down and manipulated from the start until I realized what was going on and started double checking things. I have lost sleep over this and an extreme amount of time. I am unable to speak to the workmanship of this company but can speak to my experience and the lack of integrity being shown at this time."
