"I had to call and check on my dog, which was a little challenging since I was in a different time zone. When it was time to pick her up, my flight was delayed, so I arrived back to town later than anticipated. I called to talk to Catherine to let her know my flight was delayed and I can be there as soon as I can because they close soon. She asked " how long will you be, I am five minutes from walking out the door;" it was 11:40 then and they close at 12:00. I told her i am just waiting on my luggage and I'll be on the way. She said "I'll give you until 12:15 pm. I called her back to see if I can pay over the phone so it was one less thing to do since I was running late and she proceeded to say "I don't run my business this way. When you arrive late, it pushes me back from running errands I need for the kennel." I told her I understand and I appreciate her for staying a few minutes later but I had no idea nor did I have control of the flight situation. She stated" I'll do it this one time, but this is not how I do business, I just had to let you know." I told her again how much I appreciated her and I would be there as soon as I can. When I arrived, one of the staff members greeted me and brought me my dog's belongings and then went to get her for me. Her bedding did not smell fresh nor did she. She had food stuck to her chin and something soft, mushy, and white stuck in her paw. I had to wash her bedding and bathe her as soon as we got home. I am not happy with the treatment I received nor how my dog and bedding where when I picked them up. Edit: An exit bath was not offered, if it were, I would have been happy with that. I also gave sufficient notice that I would pick her up in the morning and not the afternoon."

"Catherine, the owner, is very conscientious and has a genuine care for animals. Her staff are very professional and friendly. My two dogs had a wonderful time spending a week at Canine Country. I recommend this place to any worrisome pet parent looking for a trustworthy place to board their dogs."
