Reviews of Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center
"A place to visit for anyone interested in Cajun culture. Enjoyable little museum with clear explanations on various aspects of Cajun history and lifestyle, accompanied by beautiful artifacts and photographs. We also attended a friendly French-speaking group (we speak standard French so it was nice to pick up some Cajun expressions), listened to a music performance, then a ranger took us on a walking tour of historic downtown. We learned a lot and all activities are free."
"Quelle surprise ! When I went there for music there was also a really fun French conversation scheduled. Tuesdays at 5. All levels of French and every kind of French. You could even go just to listen. Rollicking!"
"Great experience for me to be invited as I was passing through, beautiful building and a free concert every Tuesday. I loved it they had some stories and then some music about it."
"Pleasant, well laid out museum which gives a great history of the Acadian/Cajun people in Louisiana. The available boat ride is also interesting and a good way to gain additional knowledge of the local area."
"It’s a cultural center with relics from the Acadian past. You can tour the entire space in under 10 minutes for free. The gift shop has local books and memorabilia. A nice visit to learn local history."
