Reviews of Jackson Square City Bus Tour
"Caroline and Corey were great on this 2 hour historical tour of NOLA and all of its unique neighborhoods. We learned about so much and saw so many areas we never would have seen on foot. Highly recommend! (But just go right to the Jackson Sq location to book & get your tickets!)"
"Bucket list!"
"Took the Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing City Tour. It was enjoyable and learned quite a bit. We went on a Sunday on the first start of the day, before it got crowded. Loved hearing the history of the city and places that I never thought to visit. As we hopped off to explore places, the busses got more and more crowded. It seems as though by the time we explore and headed back to post we just missed the next bus (runs every 30 minutes or so) and would have to wait for the next one. We ultimately spent more time waiting than exploring. Don’t want to leave post, a line forms and there is a possibility you’ll have to wait (again) for the next one (there is a total of five busses we were told), so make a friend (or 20) while waiting. It was $40 per person for the 1 day pass but there is a senior or military discount if you qualify. The best deal (even if it isn’t needed) would be the three day pass to get all the guided tours with the Hop off. I think that price was around $50 per person. Dustin and April were the two best guides to me (so much that I remember their names and not the others). Jeffery in the sales center was a pleasure to meet and handled us and all of our questions very well. I only signed up for the tour because I had ladies with me that had never been to NO before and thought they would be interested in knowing history. But they asked so many questions to me me (not listening to the tour guides) that we should’ve just paid $9 for the street car Jazzy passes for the long weekend and ride to where we wanted to go and Googled information. Some busses have a full canopy on top, others have a half. Ladies, hold on to your hair styles, wigs, or weaves. Men, your toupees or plenty of gorilla glue for those styles. Hats will fly, and if your lucky, your seat neighbor will catch them. Air Conditioning down stairs for those that need it. When full, you may not get to sit with your entire party, so make a new friend! Overall, it was a lot of fun and a great experience. This won’t be my first choice upon my return, but I won’t turn it down if some newbies suggest it on the next visit. Hi to my new four Canadian friends I met at stop 4! Four stars because I feel as though the buses should be 15 mins behind each other rather than 30 on crowded days, but I am sure that would mean more fleet, increased prices, etc. A more detailed map of where you can walk to from one stop to the next (and possibly how long in walking minutes). For example, from St. Augustine (we used Google to find) we could’ve walked to a few other places rather than wait for the bus and met the bus at Basin. If next time, I would take the entire tour first then go back through and make my stops, especially if get Dustin or April again as a guide."
