"Mandela is such a beautiful spirit! He has some great ideas for Congo Square and I hope he makes them a reality! History buff and musical talent — thanks for your energy today Mandela! “Humble yourself and he lift you up” much love to you!"
"While visiting New Orleans with my husband we decided to walk to Louis Armstrong Park. I was standing in front of the Congo Square sign reading and to my left a man appeared with a great big smile. I looked over and he greeted and said, "do you know what you're reading" and began to give me the best history lesson that I will forever remember. Mandela the storyteller is a wonderful person who knows his history. He would tell the history of New Orleans to whoever would listen. I look forward to returning and being able to attend one of his festivals. I highly recommend if you want to know anything about New Orleans, he is the person you would want to tell it you."
"One of the best tour guides I’ve ever came across. Randomly walking into Louis Armstrong Park in NOLA and running into him was one of my best experiences in NOLA. Very informative, knows his stuff and is a great teller of history! Check him out if you’re visiting, you won’t regret it."
"While trying to kill time and calories between a stop @ Cafe DuMonde and a scheduled tour, we decided to take a bike taxi to Armstrong Park. What we didn’t know was the $90 spent on the plantation tour was going to be regretted once we encountered Mandela The Storyteller. My whole reason for going to the plantation tour was to find out more about my roots and feel a connection with my ancestors, I didn’t get that from that tour. However, in the 20 minutes or so that we spent listening to Mandela the Storyteller in the park opened my eyes and gave me so much rich history that I wasn’t even expecting. I’m still singing the song that he taught us and I pray that I’m able to attend his festival in the future. I can’t say enough about this man, other than if you get the chance to meet him, listen and learn. ☺️"
"Was walking in Armstrong park and walked up on Mandela the story teller and he was telling the story to anyone that wanted to listen to the history of NOLA and Congo square. It was very informative. Only giving 4 stars because was not able to do tour, but will do tour next time I come to New Orleans, and update my review."
