Reviews of Chicot State Park
"Chicot is great. We love camping there. The splash pad in the summer is good for the kids, and they also have the playground and kids hiking trail. Book early for camping because it always seems to book up fast. We love the 20-mile loop. One of these days, I'll do the whole thing. We also love the arboretum. They always have scavenger hunt pages for the kids while we hike around them. It's a really nice place to go all around for a day and for picnics with the kids. We've put in the boat a few times and fished on the lake. It's a nice, quiet lake with beautiful scenery."
"My hubby and I went there for the day for hiking. This was our first time visiting. The park was extremely well maintained. The hiking trails had red paint on the trees every few yards so you never felt as if you were going to get lost. We saw a park ranger driving around in the event that you needed assistance. The bathrooms were extremely clean and maintained. We went to the Arboretum as well. That’s not really our thing but it would be educational if you had school aged children or were a teacher looking for a class field trip. They also had nice looking rental cabins over the water but I can’t speak for them since we were only there for the day. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go again if we find ourself in the area."
"I recently visited Chicot State Park for the 1st time during a work conference held on location. The park was very clean, easy to navigate, and full of wildlife to observe. I was housed in one of the over-water cabins and was surprised at how nice it was. I really enjoyed wandering the trails and seeing everything the park had to offer. I would definitely recommend visiting and I'll have to bring my family next time."
"This place was amazing. We visited in December, so it was the off season, but we were still able to rent canoes and do some bird watching. The night sky was great and the cabins were very nice and convenient to everything in the park. The ranger programs at the arboretum were very well done and Eric was very patient with our inquisitive group."
"Chicot was absolutely beautiful. We rented a cabin near the water and had an amazing time for my birthday weekend. Canoeing on the lake was so peaceful and calming. Mosquitoes not so great at dusk but nevertheless we still had a great time! Bring your mosquito spray and make sure to see as much of the park as you can. Very relaxing and people are great. Cabin was top notch!"
