"I began receiving counseling as a suggestion from my employer. I had been that person who thought that going to counseling was for "crazy" people. That is so derogatory and demeaning. I really didn't think I would benefit from counseling. All it takes is making the first step to schedule a session. When I went to my first session, I learned that there was quite a bit of life experiences that had been stored in my heart and soul. And, those experiences ended up being 90% of the reasons I found myself feeling sad (when I couldn't understand why). Attending Kitchen Table Counseling has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. EVERY session (with my counselor) began with PRAYER. Just that assured me that my counseling sessions were just what I needed at the time I needed it. I was made very comfortable. I opened up and shared things I had no idea had been affecting me. Most importantly, I did not feel nor think I was being "judged". My counselor "listened" very attentively and exhibited genuine care and concern. Whenever someone feels that their health is "compromised"; they schedule an appointment with their physician. When finances are depleting, they schedule a meeting with a banker/loan officer. When trouble arises, you call law enforcement officials. So, whenever there's something not right within your mind and soul; please make it a priority to see a counselor. I strongly recommend Kitchen Table Counseling. I am so much better from my counseling sessions and I am certain I will have many more in the future. They Care."
