"I recently had an incredibly negative experience at my GYN appointment that left me feeling triggered, unsupported, and deeply disappointed with the insensitivity displayed by the staff. I had expected a level of understanding and empathy that was sorely lacking during my visit. Upon arriving at the clinic, I was asked to step on the scale, which immediately made me uncomfortable given my history. Curious as to why it was necessary, I politely inquired about the purpose behind the weigh-in. To my surprise, the response I received was dismissive and unsympathetic. Dr. Laguaite stated that it was for "health reasons” relating to high blood pressure and extreme weight loss or weight gain;as if that were a sufficient explanation.There are alternatives to check about these if these were concerns.I had hoped for a more compassionate approach, considering the sensitive nature of my situation. When she mentioned blind weigh-in, I said that I hadn't been offered the option of a blind weigh-in, she responded with blame, insinuating that it was my fault for not asking. This response was entirely inappropriate and unprofessional. As a healthcare professional, it is their responsibility to be aware of potential triggers and provide appropriate accommodations without placing the burden on the patient. What added insult to injury was the fact that during my previous visit, I had explicitly disclosed my mental health issues on the form provided. The fact that this information was seemingly disregarded and not taken into account during my appointment was deeply disheartening. I had hoped that my disclosure would lead to a more sensitive and understanding approach from the staff, but sadly, that was not the case. The lack of empathy and sensitivity demonstrated by Dr.Lauguaite during my GYN visit was simply unacceptable. It is crucial for medical professionals, especially in fields like gynecology, to be mindful of the emotional well-being of their patients. By disregarding my concerns and blaming me for not asking for accommodations that should have been readily available, the staff perpetuated an environment that was triggering and deeply distressing. I sincerely hope that my feedback serves as a wake-up call for the clinic to reassess their approach to patient care. It is vital for healthcare providers to prioritize empathy, understanding, and sensitivity when dealing with individuals who have a history of mental health issues or disordered eating. No one should have to endure the kind of insensitivity and blame that I experienced during my visit."

"Very professional and courteous. Made us feel at ease from the very first prenatal visit to the delivery day to post delivery care of our child. She and her team have the experience, manners and expertise to see through the entire pregnancy with utmost professionalism and personal touch. We felt at ease through the entire process. I would highly recommend her for antenatal / prenatal care."

"My last two visits were extremely triggering and I refuse to continue keeping her on as my doctor. A trip to the OB shouldn't feel this way and I'm seeking another doctor with empathic bedside manner. When I come in, I shouldn't feel like an "other," pregnant or not. Then to add insult to injury, she asked what brought me in; I told her my concern, then she asked, "what do you want to do about it?" Isn't the whole point of the visit to tell me what my options are? On my last visit, I left in literal tears. Needless to say, I'm searching for a new doctor, preferably a Black woman. It may seem minor to some, but I also find it very discriminatory when all patients are not treated with the same level of care regardless if they are pregnant or not. I asked for my parking to be validated, because I parked in the garage. I was disregarding by the patient representative. However, a patient behind me was pregnant and was offered validation immediately after check-in. I overheard this and I felt so invisible. Especially for a woman who desires to be pregnant, that was super triggering for me and telling of how she treats certain patients. No one should leave feeling dismissed, defeated or discouraged after visiting with their doctor. I'm hopeful I'll have a better experience with my new doctor."

"Dr. Laguaite was very helpful in explaining any process before an appointment. I tend to become more anxious in offices, but her kind words put me at ease, my appointment was quick and I hardly felt any pain during the procedure thanks to her preparing me before each step."
