"Dr. GELMAN defenitely not the Dr you want to be on call if you have an OB emergency. Will not show up. Example.....he had a patient that started clotting and bleeding excessively 4 weeks after a hysterectomy. Patient went to Emergency room at EJGH to get checked out and ER Dr didn't know what to make of the bleeding since he wasn't an OB. The ER Dr then consulted with Gelman and Gelman said that the patient was ok to go home. The patient didn't go home, instead she went to Oschner Main Campus, where she was told that she should've never been sent home. Oschner did have an OB come check her out on call."
