"My sister used to go here and I have heard some interesting stories. Told me daily about fights that happened and how teachers would just give you a price of paper and expect you to know what to do. From what I've heard, don't put your child here."
"This school is unsafe. Believe the reviews. I didn't. Now my child is in a place where children and teachers are emotionally, and at time physically abusive. Children get hurt here. Aren't schools supposed to be safe? In my opinion, this school is the most unsafe place in the city. How are children supposed to learn when nobody has control of the school so a class is just a whole bunch of people yelling over each other."
"Probably one of the worst schools I’ve ever been to. The teachers are incompetent and the faculty is not adequately trained to deal with children. I was bullied heavily during my time there. The one time I spoke up, the people in the main office brushed me off completely. As someone who already had trouble trusting authority, this was the icing on the cake. They didn’t adequately prepare me for my future, nor did they care about my wellbeing. The principle was a fat slob who did nothing but sit in his comfortable office and eat. The dress code was awful and enforced way too strictly. Overall, it was probably the shittiest years of my life."
"If you send you child to school her God bless your child while not in your care... they are filled with ignorance and little patience. I grew up receiving a great education with great educators. TO BREAK THIS DOWN SIMPLE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A NURSE THAT SITS ON SITE.. I am not and was never a fan of the teachers they LIE and the Principles who DO NOT care about your child unless they are Straight A student. this school is a laughing joke and i made the best choice to withdraw my son who they didn't wish well or best of luck while the with draw process was being taken place."
"I see based on the ratings this pathetic hellhole of a school hasn't changed. Broadmoor was the beginning of my dark years, full of depression, stupid rules, and stupid teachers. This school nearly killed me, but I managed to get out in 2002. Before uniforms were coming into play, they were locking down on some serious dress code policies that pretty much interrupted student learning. For example, I wore some overalls that had fringes at the end. A science teacher name Ms. Hines stopped me before I could even step into first period and sent me to the office where I was forced to wait in ISS HALF the day until my dad could bring me a change of clothes. The fringes were an actual part of the design. It's not like I cut the overalls up to make it seem short, and I've worn them before. It was just an innocent little farmer's overall style. But that silly teacher decided it was something worth missing THREE classes for! Right before uniforms were implemented, they chased after students who didn't have a belt on. It didn't matter if your pants were tight or fit you well; you had to have a belt, if you didn't, the security would make you wear a damn rope! I remember in summer school one of the security officers came into the room and actually checked every student to see if they had a belt on. He saw that I didn't and asked me to come to the front to wear a rope. I sat in my seat, jaw hung out in shock that he would embarrass me like this. I didn't get up and he nearly took me to the office, but must have felt sorry for me and told me to put the rope in my backpack. I remember the first time when they were implementing uniforms. We were sent a note home that gave us the option to wear them, but then the school turned around, contradicted itself and made uniforms mandatory. If you decided you want to wear a jacket or sweater, it HAD to be the same color as the school uniforms. If it wasn't, they forced you to put it in the locker (BTW lockers were only accessed three times a day). So, they'd rather a student shiver in class then to be comfortable in a learning environment. During the winter, they forced you to wear pants. They made a boy go home becuase he was wearing uniform shorts during winter. They were deciding for us what was cold and what wasn't. During lunch shift, you were forced to stay outside in the heat. I remember I was trying to go to the office or bathroom, and there was a teacher in the hall guarding students from going anywhere else but the lunch room and that outside area. She pointed at me and told me to go right back out. I could have had an emergency and she wasn't willing to hear me out. I'm not sure if they still have it today, but there used to be a Pizza Slice day where they'd order tons of pizza and whoever purchased one, two, etc, they got theirs during the last period of the day. Instead of providing them a place to eat, the students returned to class with their delicious-smelling pizza and coke and ate among those who didn't get to order anything. That got on my damn nerves. There was one time I actually bought one, but they lost my slip and money and had no record of my purchase, but luckily, I still got to eat. The ONE teacher I would say was VERY bad was a teacher named Mrs. Savannah and she was married to one of the security guards. She was the teacher that everybody feared and talked about. I remember at the beginning of 7th grade year, I saw her name on my locator card and knew I was doomed. She was strict, very insulting, made you do "punish work" if you got a certain number of homework problems wrong or didn't do it at all. I had a been a really good student, but she was the first teacher that caused me to have my first referral. She was finally suspended. Overall, this is a stupid school, with stupid adults. Even in my late twenties I am still very angry at some of the things that happened to me."
