"If I could give zero stars I would. I went to Dr. Vaughn for my first pregnancy in 2020. I had a virtual visit with her before and she seemed pleasant enough. She quickly showed how wrong I was to think well of her. I enter and discuss my health history with her nurse, who genuinely looked as if she had never heard of depression or binge eating disorder. Fast-forward to sitting in-office with Dr. Vaughn. I express my concerns for the fetus as I was on medication for binge eating disorder and have little appetite, therefore worrying about eating enough nutrients for my child. She looks me up and down and actually says “well it doesn't look like you're starving". I was so taken aback that I left that appointment in tears. She is a provider for vulnerable patients and failed to recognize how powerful her position is for someone like me. It was my first pregnancy and instead of starting this journey in such a joyous time, she completely ruined it. It is now 2024 and something I still am bothered by how callous she was. Bottom line: This provider does not care for you. I am still trying to find a way to report her actions. And if Dr. Vaughn reads this: be more mindful of your words and position. You saw an overweight patient in her first pregnancy and dismissed her with your words. Had you behaved more professionally, you'd know I struggled with weight my entire life and have been diagnosed with PCOS and Fibromyalgia, making it even harder to lose weight. Instead of being quick to judge by a visual look, take time to value your patient's experience and offer the care you were licensed to do."
