Reviews
"I did not actually get to complete a transaction with Thrash and so this review is just on the initial contact. I have been visiting from New Mexico and sustained a knee fracture during my visit and started calling places to obtain a rental wheelchair. I was happy to reach out to Thrash since they had a 4.9 star rating. When I first contacted Carl, he was very nice and professional and I really appreciated that. He went through options with me. Then he kept saying he needed to call me back and what not, so I called him back since it had been a minute, and I wanted to confirm the rental before I hopped in the shower. Carl said it would be $30 per day and at 5 days that's $150 and at 6 it's $180. He said it would be total of $200.00. Then he started to back track, put me on hold, then nothing. I then asked him if it was a strong and newer wheelchair and not a "ghetto" wheel chair (which is a figure of speech back home because unfortunately Albuquerque is ghetto) and as a small business owner myself, I could tell Carl seemed to get offend. So I retracted and apologized to him and it was clearly too late. He said "hold on," placed me on hold and then hung up. I called back several times and he would not take my call. He finally answered and said he was with a customer that he would call me back in "5 minutes". He never did. This was really unfortunate and upsetting since this is not how one should handle business. I always give my customers the benefit of the doubt, especially when they are really going through something. I was able to get a chair from "Mobility City" for a total of $175 and it's being delivered to me as we speak. It was fast, professional, courteous, and no strange back and forth. I still deeply apologize to Carl for offending him and it was also incredibly rude and unprofessional how he left me hanging. You don't do that to people. Always work with them and try to come to an understanding. Very saddened that it went down this way. So perhaps the service here is good, I just wasn't fortunate enough to experience it. And we're not buying cars here. I imagine it's other injured and immobile folks who need help. And so, it really wasn't that deep...anyway, sorry Carl. And, that wasn't cool. Shame on you sir, I tried to make right with you. And, as a business owner one always has the right to refuse service. Pero, just refuse it. Don't leave someone hanging. **Update: As someone who used to work at a hospital as a medical social worker, I've had my fair encounters with "trashed out" wheelchairs while having to transport patients occasionally, and I was candidly stating I didn't want to deal with anything like that while I was here. Perhaps there was miscommunication all around, and I was in extreme pain and trying to figure out solutions this morning. Sorry I missed the mark on trying to rent from you. Best wishes, and perhaps this is a growth opportunity for all involved."
"When my mom was in need, Thrash Medical came through! They had all of the supplies to help support her at the most important time!"
"We returned from a cruise and my mum had been issued with the wrong colostomy bags in the uk. I managed to find Thrash online and called as soon as we got back. This was a Sunday so we had 24hrs of worry waiting to see if they stocked what we needed. I called on the Monday morning and Carl said he had what we needed and he was happy to deliver as well. Reasonable price at $75 which was worth every penny. Thank you so much and the service on the collection was friendly and so helpful."
"Thrash's Customer Service goes above and beyond! After injuring my foot in the middle of moving, Carl made it very easy for me to get what I needed, even delivering the Cam Walker to my car. I am happy to support a business that cares for the customer in this way. And not having to drive to Metairie was a plus."
"Carl was fantastic, he was probably the only company who was able to help my husband get around New Orleans with his scooter."
