"To be honest, I am a disgruntled parent, but this daycare has issues. My son was asked to leave for becoming a biter after he was initially repeatedly biten at their facility. He is now only 18mns old. I worked with him as soon as it became an issue, and he even has gotten better at home. But since he is still a baby, he doesn't fully understand that biting is bad. It had became a problem that I feel that they truly didn't know how to handle. Before asking him to leave, the only suggestion I was offered was by the director to contact "early steps" to which we didn't qualify. It is for children with disabilities, and biting isn't a disability. When I contacted the director to let her know the program she suggested we didnt qualify she told me to call the doctor who i was already in contact with. This was frustrating because it feels that the director did not research the program she recommended; and ultimately had no other insight nor information to offer. This is when we should have taken him out, because it was evidence then they had given up. Because of instances like this, i feel the way the daycare handle it could have been better. There were many times the director would not response to messages on their app when i would reach out about the situation. I felt like the director and some staff were starting to get annoyed with the situation; and rather than put the time and effort into working together it was easier to just ignore me. After it was said and done, i dont want another family to go through what we went through with this being something that started under their watch. Hard facts / cons: 1.Something is happening at this daycare that is causing my son to bite (protection?)while he is there. 2. Green director lacks a level of professionalism and authority to handle the job (preoccupied with her newborn that attends the daycare; never replies; asked us to leave over the phone instead of in person). 3. There is a general lack of communication. (repeatedly had to tell different staff that my child couldnt have diary cheese/milk rather than that being communicated between staff) 4. Building is Old and has outdated cooling/heating unite so a few times there was no AC. 5. Side outside play area on phosphor needs work All and all, there were some good aspects during our time there. Since we have experienced the good and the bad, I can say that there really is nothing extraordinary about this daycare. The only thing that was exceptional was the handful of teachers that would go the extra mile to show that they genuinely care (Mr Kaleb was GREAT). In my opinion you get what you pay for... low cost tuition, under paid teachers, and outdated facility. Update: After seeing their comment on my review, I wanted to add that I appreciate that they responded to me. I personally do not see the point in the facility now offering an in face meeting. I dont feel we need to meet in person to further discuss this matter now that it is over. I would like to make it clear that my issue is not with the facility's policies and procedures that are based on state regulation. As you can read above, there were many missteps taken by this facility that likely exacerbated this issue. I acknowledge that this is only in my opinion. But, my opinion was formed from my truthful experience while I was being advised by our pediatrician. Off the top of my head; I do not recall them sharing any patterns that would indicate early steps was the correct recommendation, but anything they shared with us we shared with our doctor who did not agree. As mention above, i reached out to the director about what our doctor said. The director did not respond, and i assume that is because she did not know how to move forward since she has been in position less than 2y Even if it seems personal there is no hard feelings. I have a right to share my honest experience. If we read this review before enrolling we wouldn't be in this position."
"Metairie Ridge was my saving grace when I needed a daycare, and when I say they were the BEST experience i’ve ever had! Im so grateful I chose this daycare. My son went from basically nonverbal, to speaking his head off and always shocking me with something new by his second week!!!. They also have an app that tells me his nap times, when he had lunch and art projects. He’s made many friends and I am so sad I have to leave due to relocation due to a job, otherwise, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They take great care of my baby, and everyday he leaves, you can tell he had the best day! I can only hope to find the same love and experience at our next daycare!"
"My twin boys have been at Metairie Ridge from 6 months until 2.5! They have taken such good care of them and our boys love their teachers! We are saddened to leave but feel prepared for "big boy school"!"
"My daughter started at Metairie Ridge when she was 6 weeks old and stayed until she was just shy of 2 years. I found the staff to be competent and caring. I was always comfortable leaving my child there for the day. We felt that they were an extension of my daughter’s family and we will miss them!"
"After leaving an awful daycare in Mid-City Metairie Ridge was a godsend. First let’s talk affordability. The rates here are reasonable and more than cover the care and compassion you get from the staff here. The facility is very clean (I’d say the only thing that bothers me is that caregivers wear their shoes inside the classrooms. I’ve been to other facilities that require shoes to be removed before walking into the classrooms due to the high spread of germs) diapers are changed regularly and toys are cleaned and sanitized. My son has been in the infant room with Mrs. Rita and a few others that took very good care of my little one when I first went back to work. My son is now in the 6-12 month room and Mrs. Paige is my sons favorite. Keri who runs the daycare is very responsive and always available to answer questions and is great at keeping parents informed of things going on in the daycare. If you’re looking for a small quiet daycare that offers a lot of love for your little one I highly recommend Metairie Ridge."
