"I currently live here and the place is awful. Our apartment flooded and it took them a week to do anything about it so we were waking in water. Some of the staff are terrible at their jobs and seem like they have no clue what they are doing. They are not about lying to you either. They will mess up and make it your problem and they have a serious mold problem. The streets here are also terrible and have caused my rim to crack and I had to replace that as well. Overall a terrible place DO NOT LIVD HERE!!!!!"
"Absolutely horrible save your money! The staff are extremely unprofessional and I have been straight up harassed by them on multiple occasions. They even lock the door to the office when they see me approaching. Ive never met a group of more incompetent people. They don’t respond to emails, calls, or maintenance requests. The low cost of rent is a facade, they more than compensate with all the hidden fees. Its dirty and poorly maintained. You will never even get to use the pool due to how filthy it is. The property manager is almost never here and is otherwise completely unreachable. Its clear that this business operates purely to exploit its patrons."
"They add on unnecessary And unexplained fees without alerting you, they refuse to answer a phone at any time of day, much less a email, my refrigerator, freezer, and microwave were completely broken at the same time for a month and a half and I called constantly to get no response. Both the maintenance and front office staff are rude, condescending, and lazy at least when you finally do get the opportunity to speak to someone. And those are not even recent problems. Worst experience I’ve ever had the only reason you should stay here is if your only other option is to live on the street. All the other reviews aren’t being dramatic or anything. I feel the need to reiterate, that’s just how bad it is here and how much I hate it, if you have ANY other choice DO NOT LIVE HERE. I’ve lived here for three years and after promising my rent wouldn’t increase after receiving a promotion to renew my lease for another year. They’ve increased it by $31 dollars a month along with adding a $63 annual Conservice fee, which I believe is an annual fee to use the Energy billing system that is supposed to split the bill but doesn’t work, then a $15 monthly fee conservation fee. And just last month I put a money order in the night drop off box and they continued to charge me late fees for that following day despite the fact that they’ve never done that before and the date is clearly marked on the check. That just brings me to the most recent problem of the energy bill this leasing term we switched from our own personal energy account to a account run by the apartment complex that should be being split between my roomates but the entire bill has been charged to my account and despite the fact that the office is open I’ve been calling and can’t get any response on what to do about a 200 dollar electric bill that for the past three years I’ve lived here has never been more than 90 dollars. They are quick to charge you money, not explain and what it’s for or why. And they won’t answer an email at all you’ll be lucky to get them to answer a phone I’ve only managed literally three different occasions to actually talk to someone about a problem. That’s all without mention the state of the apartment complex from the roads which have a pothole so big a full grown man could lay down in it and not be seen and the outside of the buildings with their wasp nest and mysterious hunk caked up on them, the fact that they don’t enforce the pet waste rules so for a week a walk pass dog poop in the middle of the sidewalk at the bottom of my apartment stairs, and finally all the gnats and roaches. I deep clean the whole apartment every weekend I spray poison along every baseboard outside on the patio, and along the window sills yet there’s still an infestation that Brightside continues to ignore. And the show room looks nothing like the apartments it’s all dorm room furniture maintenance came to bring a new couch and armchair set and only brought half then left it in the rain on the patio still in the box. When they came to clean out the empty bedroom they pushed all that trash onto the balcony and left it there. That was two months ago and it is still currently their. HONESLTY if this was a restaurant or any other business they’d have been shut down by now. Their is no fixing these problems because the staff changes constantly and they’re all other college student that just want a discount on their rent."
"It I could leave ZERO stars I would. I moved here in 2019 from lafayette for school. Throughout my five years of living here, its been interesting to say the least. I’ve seen at least 3 management teams come and go and there was only one good one which was the first team that was there when I moved in 2019. I had absolutely no problems. Staff was nice. Property was clean. Roommates were good. It wasn’t until year 3 that the staff has gone to complete trash. Maintenance has probably walked in on me naked 3 times. There is no warning whatsoever. The office NEVER answers the phone, it is always the answering service and that person might be in Wisconsin for all we know. Don’t expect the staff to get back with you if you leave a voicemail because they won’t. Please and I means please do not ever need the courtesy officer because thats just useless. The gate never works. The property literally had a huge construction ordeal to fix the many potholes but then there’s still so many potholes that honestly will mess up a tire and other things on your car. I have asked multiple times for my shower to be recaulked and in 5 yrs it has never been recaulked. I lived on the second floor and obviously had upstairs neighbors. I had problems once and the first management team handled it accordingly. When the next management team came in and new people moved in upstairs making the utmost noise and being rude management did nothing! I actually got told “its the luck of the draw with upstairs neighbors.” I was a non problematic tenant that paid her rent on time and didn’t ask for much but they did absolutely nothing to help me in regards to this issue. My car was in the shop for a week or 2 and I had to get a rental. I inquired about a temporary parking pass for the rental, and management was very rude to say the least. The young man in the office acted like I was insane for asking for a temporary pass. A simple no would have sufficed, but the attitudes and belittling is where I draw the line. Its been 3 months since I have moved out and I still have heard no word on my deposit or anything else of that nature. This property obviously is a great location and you get what you pay for, but it just is not worth the hassle. I wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to live here. I hate to be a “”Karen”, but this was absolutely THE WORST apartment I have lived in."
