"Dr.Black diagnose my child as legally blind and he was correct but Imagine telling me a 19 years old with her first child , 3 month old baby “he won’t ever see , don’t expect him to see , he is blind and you should apply for disability now to see what you could get, ” that is literally what he told me and even had the nerve to to tell me about schools for the blind. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. I don’t know if it’s just because he don’t like black people and maybe treat white patients better who knows. But you have to be v unhappy with your outside life to create a work environment like this! ALSO he was misinformed, nothing worst than a doctor telling patients what their child can and won’t do based off textbook knowledge that’s old and not up to date. I wouldn’t recommend Andrew Black to anyone, even pediatricians told me they’ve also heard negative things about him. Not to mention he told me my child will never see and to not expect it , yet my child see, play and just fine. So he basically going around diagnosing and misinforming people (harshly) . When he dies, he will be judge for every patient he has ever been harsh to and lead astray ."

"Rude rude and rude . I called one day to make appointment for my daughter, not knowing this office closed for lunch this lady answered the phone and was so rude . She said hello I said yes I’m calling to see about making an appointment for my little girl and she responded well call back when there not at lunch . Umm ok so I didn’t call back that day couple days later I called to try making appointment agin this time after lunch and she answered the phone with additude when I ask to make appointment she ask for the insurance info when I said Medicaid she then respond well what company with Medicaid I respond I’m sorry let me grab the card out my wallet real quick she then said well you can call back when you have your things together I told her it was literally right next to me she tells me well I’m putting you on hold and I’ll be back with you when I handle these customers. Just rude so I wait for her to pick up agin and she says ok ready now then hands the phone to another worker who tells me sorry she just handed me the phone what can I help you with . I proceeded to tell her never mind if there that rude and unprofessional on the phone I could only imagine how they would treat my daughter at her visit am I will be going else where … rude don’t book with them I’m now using eagle eye care in denham springs . Very polite and patient people there . -zero stars if I could to this pediatric eye care office . That woman needs to be fired if she don’t like to deal with people"

"My wife, son and I arrive to the doctors office and see a note on the door saying they only allow 1 adult in with a child. Us and another couple went in anyway. The ladies in the reception area was giving us strange looks. When my wife checked in, they told her that only one adult could go in to see the doctor with the child. They called my son name and the other couple’s child’s name ant the wives took the kids back to see the doctor. After they went back, someone (I assume it was one of the doctors) came out and told me and the other father that we had to leave. We couldn’t even sit in the waiting room and wait on the mother and child to finish seeing the doctor. It’s 45 degrees outside and there is no sitting area outside so I’m sitting in my truck. There was another father there with 2 twin daughters and they told him at first that he could only have one child there with him. He raised his voice and got upset saying that he is the only adult there with both kids. I assume they wanted to kick the 2nd daughter out. The receptionist finally agreed to let the 2nd child stay in the waiting room with them while the father took the other one back to see the doctor. Don’t come here. I might tell my wife to find another eye doctor just because of this situation. If this is their policy, they should have told us this when we made the appointment instead of putting a sign on the door. If I could give zero stars I would."

"I'm shocked to see some of the other reviews because we have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Black and his staff. He is extremely well trained, good with children and we've always had good service/communication from his staff. 5 Stars!"
